The Dye Sub Column Sublimation with Siser EasySubli ink
Sublimation includes a multitude of possibilities, but there are always new tools and resources that are being developed to help expand the horizons of what can be done. Siser EasySubli ink is one of those tools that is gaining in popularity and helping to advance the world of sublimation. Sawgrass’ marketing co-ordinator, Olivia Cranney, explains more.

s many sublimators have found in the past, sublimation is somewhat limited to light coloured substrates.
Siser EasySubli ink was developed by Sawgrass and Siser as an option for sublimation on both hard and soft substrates including printing on heat transfer vinyl.
Siser EasySubli ink also allows for sublimating on cotton and dark coloured substrates. In tandem with your Sawgrass sublimation printer and EasySubli inks, commercial quality products can be made with the same colour and vibrancy that comes from using other product printing methods.
What makes this ink different? Sublimation ink is the key to permanently transfer ink to a product through heat and pressure. This process cannot be done with any ink, which is why sublimation inks have been developed.
EasySubli inks are water-based sublimation inks that are compatible

with Sawgrass desktop printer models. The inks are available in a CMYK colour model, which continue to allow for all shades of colour to be printed. EasySubli ink is created with similar processes as Sawgrass SubliJet UHD inks, by milling fine dye powder with dispersing agents, but in addition, EasySubli ink is developed with a drying agent to allow for sublimation on EasySubli vinyl. On a less technical level, EasySubli inks can be used for traditional sublimation on hard or soft polyester-coated substrates, but also produces the same results on cotton or cotton blended materials. This is because when printed on EasySubli vinyl, it is able to dry to the right aridity to allow for sublimation. This makes it a viable choice for sublimation on unique substrates such as shoes or hats, on dark substrates, or in other cases where traditional sublimation is not going to work as well.
How is EasySubli ink being used in today’s sublimation market? With Sawgrass’s Creative Studio and Print Manager software, printing, and product creation with EasySubli inks can be replicated infi nitely.
Sawgrass Print Manager has been adapted for EasySubli ink printing. A specifi c print setting of EasySubli vinyl has been developed. These settings control the amount of ink the printer puts on a page as colour concentration can affect the appearance of the fi nal sublimated product. This also ensures that ink is not wasted, which saves businesses on production costs. Identical results across inventory allow businesses to produce larger orders that meet quality control expectations. Furthermore, the ability to replicate results on hard substrates with traditional sublimation and the same results on soft and dark coloured substrates with vinyl is letting more businesses fulfi ll their customer’s varying needs. With ink that is consistent, businesses are fi nding they can focus more on product design and less on manufacturing time.
