Roland DG’s Hero Awards 2018 gathers momentum
R
oland DG has been overwhelmed by the strength of entries to the Roland Hero Awards 2018, a new competition recognising and celebrating Roland users across EMEA. Launched in April, Roland Hero is gathering pace with a wide variety of entrants from across the region, all with a unique story to tell.
From the UK, Roland has heard about the heartbreaking tale of friendship from the disabled entrepreneur behind Hannah J Jewellery. Spanish windsurfing customisation brand In Your Face was proud to share its story of
starting a successful
business from almost nothing and, from Hungary, Rebel Grafikai Stúdióʼs dedication to getting a major job completed was, frankly, exhausting. More stories have come from Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands and more.
Gillian Montanaro, head of marketing, EMEA at Roland DG, said: “We really are blown away by the entries weʼve already received for the Roland Hero Awards. “Roland users are incredibly special and do extraordinary things – combining their innovation, enthusiasm and drive to get the absolute best results from their Roland

premises in Rainham and has also invested in new equipment.
After a merger in 2017, which saw Neill Boatman of ImageON and Dan Smith of Bright Chameleon join forces, the company has seen steady growth.
Its most recent purchase has been a Mimaki CJV150-130 purchased from CMYUK. Partner, Neill Boatman said: "The Mimaki CJV150-130 has enabled us to bring production in-house. It has made what we do easier, more cost- effective and we can now also offer new products and target new markets."
equipment – but we werenʼt expecting such a wealth of amazing stories.
“Some have been really exciting, a couple genuinely tear-jerking, others simply jaw-dropping, discovering what Roland users achieve. Itʼs been an emotional rollercoaster reading the entries – and weʼre not even halfway through! Itʼs going to be very hard to choose a winner.” The Roland Heroes
initiative is open to all Roland DG users, whether they use UV curable, eco solvent or dye sublimation printers, vinyl cutters, integrated printer/cutters or engraving systems, brand new or workroom veterans.
The overall winner will jet off on a fantastic holiday – a choice between a relaxing stay in tropical Thailand, an exciting family trip to Florida and an unforgettable visit to Iceland – but every eligible business that gets involved can display a badge of honour on their marketing material. A selected number of Spotlight Heroes will also be invited to share more about their business.
The closing date is October 31 and, with entries from across EMEA already flooding in, Roland users are advised to submit their stories now.
