venues in Gorton and Eccles, both areas of high child poverty.
Roseanne Sweeney, chief executive of Wood Street Mission, said: “Weʼre very pleased David Luke have come on board to help us deliver our vital SmartStart initiative. Doing well at school is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and this scheme,
which is unique, provides uniform to Manchester and Salford families who are struggling financially so their children can fit in and engage in school.”
Kathryn Shuttleworth, managing director of David Luke, said: “I am delighted that David Luke has the opportunity to partner with Wood Street Mission for their
SmartStart project. Being a schoolwear business based in Manchester, with a very strong ethical stance in all that we do, we were enthusiastic to be involved and are also thrilled to be able to widen the reach of our environmentally-friendly Eco Uniform to the children of Manchester and Salford.” The partnership, involves a contract worth about £100,000, to supply high quality uniform to children aged 3-18 whose families are referred to Wood Street Mission. David Luke is also providing the charity with logistical help to deliver the project, volunteers to run the back-to-school shop, as well as organising fundraising activities for SmartStart. David Luke has made a £1,000 donation to SmartStart to mark the start of the partnership.
Sabur Digital increases its co-operation with DGI S
abur Digital has announced it is to increase its co-operation with Korean Printer Manufacturers DGI – Digital Graphics Inc. Dean Sanger, MD, said: “Having worked closely with DGI over the last two years and successfully selling, installing and servicing the DGI HS FTII high speed sublimation printer without any real issues it was a no brainer to increase our DGI portfolio.
“I watched and monitored the new DGI Fabrijet printers very closely at FESPA and it has to be said that the printers that DGI had on their stand ran faultlessly over the entire event. The all new 3.2 metre Fabrijet FT-3204X Hybrid printer was to me one of the real stars of the
Fabrijet FT-1608
show, with its ability to print both direct to fabric and paper with the same ink set it really is a two in one printer. “DGI had the printer running both polyester fabric and sublimation paper mediaʼs alternating daily over the full five- day event and I have to say that the
printer never missed a beat. The entire DGI range of printers were printing consecutively for the whole five day event with the Fabrijet FT-1608 being tasked to print none stop from opening at 10am until close at 5pm which it did without any stops except to change the media.” Sabur has recently installed in its show suite the Fabrijet FT-1608 with a true production speed of 75sq m/hr with the FT-3204X installed last month. The companyʼs service engineers have been over to DGI headquarters in Korea for training and with an off the shelf range of spares, customers can be safe in the knowledge that their printer will have the full service and support levels that Sabur Digital prides itself on.
