Focus on Digital Printing Resolute DTG Digital print goes big with new UV-84DTS

Since 2015 Resolute has supplied and serviced small format flatbed LED UV printers, manufactured by Direct Color Systems. The launch of the new UV-84DTS flatbed printer sees Resolute entering the large format digital print sector. The UV-84DTS is the only large format UV printer to produce ADA compliant Braille signage on the industry standard sheet size of 8x4 (120x243cm) and up to 10cm in substrate depth. It utilises Ricoh industrial print head technology, including white ink circulation through the print heads with zero waste, combined with the 84’s unique odourless solvent free flexible UV curable ink makes it ideal for high quality indoor and outdoor signage. It has all the features you would expect on a printer of this size, with the exception of one, the price point. Entering the large format LED UV market with a price tag comparable to a flat-bed UV of less than half its size, the UV- 84DTS is not only very good value, it is a production system designed to run around the clock. The built-in workflow software and double gantry system increases stability and productivity allowing for pin sharp images to be produced in flat or textured 3D including ADA compliant braille.

Details of how to see a demonstration of this new printer can be found on Resolute’s website and Direct Color Systems’ website.

Large format sublimation inks made in the UK

added to Premium range A high percentage of textiles and other promotional items are decorated using sublimation inks, this product has been on Resolute’s radar for many years. Managing director, Colin Marsh, says: “Until recently we were not happy with the price or performance of sublimation products that are made in the UK. As origin is important to us, we have held off in this area until now, the new sublimation inks exclusive to Resolute will be launched under the Resolute Premium range.

“As you would expect, we will be very competitive on pricing and are confident the colour gamut and performance of these new inks is superior to anything we have tested in the UK for many years.”
