Epson provides preview of first roll-to-roll DTF solution
A
t Printing United Expo held in Las Vegas last month, Epson provided visitors with a sneak peek of its
fi rst roll-to-roll direct to fi lm solution. Firm details are yet to be confi rmed, but it appears the device is built on the framework of the SureColor F6470 dye sublimation printer, which supports up to 44in media and boasts a maximum six-colour speed of 37m sq/hr. Epson is promoting the new five-colour DTF device as supporting up to 35in film width.
It is thought Epson is going to focus on providing the printer, inks and fi lms under its own brand and leave the remaining elements, such as the powder and powder shaker/ heater to third party partners.
