ever mind pondering over whether it will a barbecue summer or more of a rain stops play one. This year we’re still wondering where we can go, or even if we can go anywhere.


Well, the good news is that we will be able to get away as the great unlockdown continues.


Good luck in finding somewhere though. With fears of no foreign travel abounding, every spare room and hastily converted campsite in the UK seems to have been block booked despite super soaraway prices. However, foreign travel is back on the cards, depending on where destinations are on the traffic light system the government has announced. Green countries are relatively safe and travellers from them will not have to quarantine providing they have a negative PCR test before coming back to the UK. So, who’s for an all-inclusive fortnight in the Falklands or the Faroe Islands? It must be said that the choice is not yet extensive and some of the more popular holiday destinations for Brits are excluded just now, but circumstances change, so be prepared.

One essential for travellers, especially in these days of gadget reliance, is a travel plug that caters for all of your needs. Although few of us will be doing a Phileas Fogg and jetting around the world from country to country, having an adapter that is, well, adaptable, will still pay dividends.

It’s great to see some creativity and fun creep back into promotions after a period when there wasn’t much space for either. Cadbury Creme Egg’s Golden Goobilee celebrated 50 years of the chocolate eggs and produced some cracking merchandise to mark the event. The plate’s design is inspired by the craft of Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with gold. The commemorative item brings together the contrasting styles of a 1971 traditional plate and the modern version, nodding to Cadbury Creme Egg’s 50-year heritage.


The plates were sold on website Depop. Consumers who bought this piece of Cadbury Creme Egg history the quickest got a bargain as the plates were sequentially priced from £1 up to £50.
