Supplier Profile: Hybrid Services
Expanding opportunities in personalisation

or garment decorators, apparel remains the foundation of day- to-day business, but customer demand is increasingly extending beyond clothing alone. Organisations sourcing workwear, sportswear, teamwear and promotional garments are often seeking a broader range of branded products to support campaigns, events, staff engagement and merchandising activity.
This shift is encouraging more businesses to view personalisation as an extension of their existing service offer rather than a separate market. By adding complementary products, garment decorators can strengthen customer relationships, develop additional revenue opportunities and retain work that may otherwise be outsourced to alternative suppliers.
Direct to object printing with the UJF-MkII e Series
Mimaki’s UJF-MkII e Series UV LED flatbed printers have become an established route into direct to object (DTO) printing, enabling users to produce everything from promotional gifts and merchandise to signage, packaging prototypes and bespoke décor. Available in A3 and A2 formats, the range is capable of printing directly onto a wide variety of materials and finished products. Pens, notebooks, keyrings, power banks, phone cases and coasters are obvious applications, but many users quickly discover opportunities in areas such as acrylic photographic blocks, small format rigid signage and point of sale displays. The ability to produce short runs economically makes the technology particularly attractive to garment decorators already serving schools, clubs, corporate customers and promotional distributors. Personalised products, limited editions and variable data jobs can all be handled efficiently, without the need for minimum order quantities or lengthy set- up times.

With reusable drinkware now a firmly established part of corporate gifting, events and promotional campaigns, this capability gives print businesses access to a commercially relevant product category without the need to invest in a dedicated cylindrical printing system.
Taking personalisation further with UV DTF
Adding value through creativity UV printing offers possibilities that go beyond simply reproducing graphics. White ink enables vibrant printing onto coloured and transparent materials, while clear ink can be used to create premium spot varnish effects and textured finishes. Raised print effects add another dimension to products and can help transform everyday items into higher value pieces. Whether producing branded merchandise, awards, packaging samples or bespoke retail products, the ability to offer something distinctive can provide a valuable point of difference. The 2.5D raised printing technology also opens up opportunities for producing Braille, enabling premium small-format accessible signage, or more meaningful product packaging mock-ups to be quickly and easily created. For many businesses, these products are already being requested by existing customers. Bringing production in-house can improve responsiveness and help provide a more complete service, while reducing reliance on external suppliers.
Printing bottles and cylindrical products
The optional Kebab HS attachment further broadens the application potential of the UJF-MkII e Series. Developed for direct decoration of cylindrical products, it enables full-colour personalisation of items such as drinks bottles, tumblers, travel mugs and other promotional drinkware.
While DTO printing is well suited to a wide range of products, not every item lends itself to flatbed production. Curved surfaces, irregular shapes and more awkward product profiles can all present practical challenges, creating a clear role for complementary transfer technologies.
Mimaki’s UJV300DTF-75 UV DTF printer addresses these applications by printing graphics onto a transfer film for application to the finished object. The process enables durable, high-quality decoration across products that may be difficult or impractical to print directly, extending the scope of personalisation beyond conventional flatbed applications.
For print businesses, the technology offers a practical way to broaden product capability while retaining the colour impact, durability and production flexibility associated with UV print.
More ways to serve existing customers For garment decorators, diversification does not necessarily mean moving away from apparel. In many cases, it means building on established customer relationships by supplying more of the branded products those customers already need. Together, the Mimaki UJF-MkII e Series and UJV300DTF-75 provide practical routes into promotional products, personalised gifts, retail items and small-format signage. As expectations around customisation continue to develop, the ability to offer a broader product portfolio can help print businesses strengthen customer relationships, capture additional work and keep more value within the business.
