AJS reveals winner of Digital Textile Innovation award

bby Prince has been announced as the winner of the fi rst-ever The AJS Embroidery Award for Digital Textile Innovation.
Ms Prince, a recent textiles graduate from Bournemouth University, received the award for her graduate collection titled ‘Garden of Opulence’ – a visually rich and technically advanced body of work, exploring luxury, colour and digital stitch.
Madelaine Atkinson, winner of the 2023 Hand & Lock prize and marketing assistant at AJS Embroidery Services, was one of the judges. Commenting on the winning design, she said: “We were looking for a designer who demonstrated creative application of digital embroidery, originality and great use of thread work. “Abby’s project was striking and utilised threads worn through digital embroidery processes. She presented
with a high level of professionalism and has a strong direction as a designer. “She showed great originality and confi dence in her creative vision.” Ms Prince added: “I wanted to push the boundaries of combining print and stitch. Working with digital embroidery heled me bring texture and realism to each design. I experimented with thread densities and stitch types to create detailed, tactile outcomes that elevate the overall narrative.”
As the winner, Ms Prince receives a Gunold embroidery thread and stabaliser hamper, an exclusive behind-the- scenes tour of the AJS Embroidery Services’ factory, and a 1:1 bespoke portfolio review with embroidery fashion designer, Ms Atkinson.

Keramikos and Thermalmate revive Listawood products and processes

n June last year, Listawood went into administration and now 12 months later Kermaikos and Themalmate are relaunching several of the manufacturer’s products and processes. Following the company’s entry into administration, Keramikos and Thermalmate stepped in to acquire its assets, an important move to preserve and reignite the innovative spirit Listawood was known for.
Eevo and Tulip
One of the more popular processes being relaunched is the ColourCoat spray line, known for its precision Pantone colour matching; a favourite among brand conscious clients seeking consistency across their promotional merchandise. The ColourCoat spray line now utilises water-based inks, offering a more sustainable alternative to traditional solvent-based options within the industry. To accommodate these new products and processes, the Keramikos and Thermalmate manufacturing facility in Alfreton has has undergone signifi cant expansion to integrate the specialised equipment. A new mezzanine extension has been constructed to accommodate the advanced machinery, and a custom-built housing unit now ensures the streamlined operation of the inherited production lines. Meanwhile, stock and logistics have been optimised with the opening of a dedicated new warehouse site less than a mile down the road.
Both companies are committed to bringing revitalised products and enhanced production capabilities to market.

n June 18 and 19, Xpres hosted its fi rst ever Print & Pizza event at its Castle Donington facility.

were introduced to brand-new technology, including the Adkins DTF Inline 900 Pro and the new DTF Neolt XY Cutter, as well as DTF solutions from leading brands such as Epson, Mimaki, and Roland. The team also showcased its large range of heat presses from Adkins and Sefa together with a diverse selection of sublimation solutions. Visitors could also explore garments from Kustom Kit and Vanilla brands.
