Gildan celebrates 20 years of sustainability reporting

ildan Activewear has published its 20th


Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report, marking a milestone in the company’s long history of public ESG disclosures. The 2023 report highlights Gildan’s continued progress against key targets, two years into the implementation of its next generation ESG strategy and 2030 targets.


Gildan’s ESG journey began in the early 2000s, and since then, the company has achieved many ESG reporting milestones, including: • The publication of its first Corporate Citizenship Report in 2004.


• The accreditation of its social compliance program by the Fair Labor Association (FLA) in 2007.


• Aligning to sustainability reporting using the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) framework starting in 2008.


• Conducting its first materiality assessment in 2014.


• Aligning commitments with the UN Sustainability Development Goals in 2017.


• Disclosing ESG data according to the Gildan’s 20th ESG report


Gildan recognised on Corporate Knights’ Best 50 Corporate Citizens


Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) standards since 2021.


• The publication of its first stand-alone Climate Change Disclosure Report in alignment with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) in 2022.

Hybrid Services adds long-standing print industry professional to team

ndrew Edwards has joined the Hybrid Services team in the newly created role of partner sales manager (sign & graphics). He joins Hybrid’s sales team supporting the company’s reseller partners and end customers, working alongside Martin Southworth who takes the role of partner sales manager (industrial products).


Hybrid’s sales director, Andy Gregory said: “Andrew has been selling, promoting and supporting wide format inkjet printers, flatbed cutters and workflow software to end-users and resellers for over 20 years, and brings valuable knowledge and experience to our business.”

Gildan Activewear has been recognised as one of the Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada by Corporate Knights for the third consecutive year.

DTF sees percentage growth of 7420% between 2020-24


A


ccording to research completed by A.M. Custom Clothing, the percentage growth of interest in direct to film printing between 2020 and 2024 was found to be 7420%. The report continued to state that print technology textiles power-houses such as the US, India, Philippines and Pakistan, have seen the highest global search volume per month for DTF. In particular, the US saw 8,100 monthly Google searches of DTF, according to data the company retrieved from SE Ranking. Following these findings, A.M. Custom Clothing concluded from its statistical findings that DTF will consequently gain popularity both globally and in the UK. Since 2020 search interest in DTF printing has continued to skyrocket, and it looks to only be gaining momentum.
