Welcome to our latest issue!
It’s hard to believe it but it’s that time of year again - industry is coming together for IAAPA Expo Europe 2023 (pages 22-25). This year’s Expo is taking place in Vienna and for the first time ever will include a Host City Day. Three tours are planned to cover developments in F&B, retail, and the culture of business, and the line-up includes a tour of the historic Schönbrunn Palace.
We cover Cloud Shuttle, the first Super Boomerang from Vekoma (page 32); and Maurer Rides’ Speed Chaser. (pages 36-37)
Speaking of history, we take a look at the hedonistic history of amusement parks on page 5 this month. Things have changed somewhat since the first Pleasure Parks of the 1800s - and technological advances mean modern rides are bigger, faster and better than ever. Take Cloud Shuttle, for example, the first Super Boomerang from Vekoma (page 32); or Maurer Rides’ Speed Chaser (pages 36-37).
Elsewhere in the issue we have insights from Nicola Liscio-Heffernan, accesso’s EMEA sales director, on the merits of cloud-based systems (pages 34-35); we chat with John Wood and Lauren Wood Weaver from Sally Dark Rides pages 38-39; and we have the latest from Triotech with our cover story on pages 27-28.
Enjoy - and we hope to see you at the Park World Excellence Awards on 27 September!
