Peppa Pig is coming to Germany in 2024 M

erlin Entertainments has announced mainland Europe’s first standalone Peppa Pig Theme Park, due to open in 2024 in Günzburg, Germany.

The new Peppa Pig park, adjacent to Legoland Deutschland, will debut in time for the Peppa Pig brand’s 20th anniversary next year. Manuela Stone, Legoland Deutschland’s divisional director, said: “Together as a family, kids and their parents can visit the theme park and create everlasting memories with Peppa.” The Günzburg theme park will feature family-friendly rides, interactive attractions, character experiences, and themed play areas and shows. Scott O’Neil, Merlin‘s CEO, said the company creates experiences and attractions “that bring joy, stimulate learning and imagination, and produce engaging, lasting memories for guests of every age and ability”. “This new Peppa Pig Theme Park builds on the incredible success of Peppa

Pig Theme Park in Florida and Peppa Pig World of Play locations spanning across the globe from Texas to Shanghai,” O’Neil said. “We look forward to continuing to celebrate our dynamic partnership with Hasbro by creating more opportunities and bringing phenomenal brands like Peppa Pig to life through our attractions.” Merlin Entertainments‘ Peppa Pig theme parks are the result of a licensing agreement with Hasbro, which owns the Peppa Pig brand. Matt Proulx, Hasbro’s vice president of location-based entertainment, said the success of the first Peppa Pig park in Florida “has been phenomenal”. He commented: “We have so much in store for Peppa’s big anniversary year in 2024 and cannot wait for guests of all ages visiting Bavaria to create lifelong memories with Peppa and her friends.”

The news comes after Merlin’s second Peppa Pig park broke ground in North Richland Hills, Texas. Both new parks join the original Peppa Pig Theme Park in Florida. The upcoming Texas theme park, set to open in 2024, will also be home to rides, attractions, play areas and shows. “Following the incredible success of our current properties in Texas

and Peppa Pig Theme Park in Florida, along with the focus on family entertainment in North Richland Hills, it was an easy decision to build our next Peppa Pig Theme Park here,” said Jeremy Aguillen, the park’s general manager.

Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach streamlines operations with Semnox

Technology solutions provider Semnox has installed its Tixera technology at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach in Norfolk, UK.

The system includes 10 access control gates with 30 XTER readers at ride locations, annual membership management software with photo validation, online and on-site attraction bookings and seven self-service kiosks throughout the park.

Prior to the install, Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach relied on traditional metal tokens and paper bands.

Jamie Jones, executive director of Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach, said: “The response from our customers and staff after the system's implementation has been very positive, with great customer feedback and staff finding the system easy to use after initial training.

“Overall, we have been very pleased with the Semnox implementation and support. The system has proven to be very efficient and a great benefit to our business. Semnox has allowed us to revolutionise our form of operation, using modern technology to our advantage and allowing us to gain valuable data of our park's performance, which we feel is essential for growth in our industry.

“The main benefits we have seen so far are an uplift in revenue, and we have gained valuable data from the reporting which allows us to make more conscious decisions to move the business forward.”
