accesso® Technology Group has been busy making major expansions in 2023. Park World has more.
accesso Technology Group, leading technology solutions provider to leisure and entertainment operators around the globe, has had a tremendous year of activity to-date, including a series of major expansions announced in 2023. These expansions greatly enhance not only accesso’s technology set, but also its global footprint and client portfolio, bringing exciting updates for theme parks and attractions, cultural institutions, resorts, casinos and ski areas. Most recently, in June 2023, accesso acquired VGS, a leading ticketing and visitor management system provider for leisure, entertainment and cultural businesses around the globe. VGS' award-winning SnApp platform will be rebranded as accesso Horizon and operate as part of the accesso product set. With an expansive feature set, globalised functionality and robust scaling capabilities, the VGS platform empowers venue operators to manage all benefits, services and entitlements available to guests with one unified platform. Hosted either on-premises or in the cloud, the solution offers customers an open API to enable direct integration with other systems. Founded by a team with decades of combined experience, VGS has supported renowned visitor attractions in all aspects of the selling, distribution and redemption of tickets and entitlements since its establishment in 2011. Its client roster of more than 100 venues includes the world’s largest theme park resort destination in Orlando, Florida, as well as leading theme park brands in Dubai, Singapore, Japan and China. Beyond theme parks, the ticketing and visitor management platform supports zoos, observation towers and other unique attractions in a total of 11 countries around the globe, including one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World – the Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. Speaking on this major industry deal, VGS CEO, Paolo Moro, stated: “I’m delighted for VGS to join forces with accesso. Our technology is complementary with accesso’s offering. We look forward to working together as we move ahead to this exciting next chapter.” In May 2023, accesso announced the launch of its new, cutting-edge restaurant and retail platform, accesso Freedom. Fast, frictionless, highly flexible and instantly scalable, accesso Freedom introduces a new standard of excellence in cloud-native restaurant and retail solutions for theme parks and attractions, ski areas, cultural venues, resorts and casinos. With open architecture and full API access, accesso Freedom provides operators unlimited options for service delivery to improve both guest convenience and operational efficiency. The solution is designed to serve the rapidly evolving marketplace by shifting from traditional point-of-sale terminals to more forward-thinking options, helping operators to meet guests where

they are with mobile ordering, kiosks, and other self-service and automated check-out options. Powerful integrations enable operators to leverage emerging technologies such as chat bot ordering and voice-based transactions. Commenting on the product launch via press release, accesso CEO, Steve Brown, shared: “Today’s guest requires convenience and flexibility, and the industry needs a solution for restaurant and retail selling that can deliver on those demands. With the launch of accesso Freedom, we are proud to usher in a new era of consumer engagement for an expansive selection of venue types across the entire leisure, entertainment and hospitality sectors.” And earlier in the year, in April 2023, accesso acquired leading ski-specific technology provider Paradocs Mountain Software. This acquisition added Paradocs' all-in-one mountain management solution, MtnOS, to accesso's portfolio of technology as accesso Paradox. The flexible, integrated solution empowers ski areas to take full control of their operations across ticketing and passes, snow school, retail and equipment rental, food & beverage, administration and online sales. Paradocs was established in 2001 to help operators maximise the mountain experience for their visitors. The hosted, all-in-one mountain management solution, MtnOS – now accesso Paradox – is considered one of the most powerful ski-specific operating systems on the market, currently leveraged by 48 Canadian and 2 U.S.-based resorts to optimise both operations and the guest experience.
