OVID-19 is the backdrop to everything right now,” says Andrew. “It’s unexpected and most unfortunate, but one of the


things that it has created is the opportunity for us to pull together to provide solutions, ideas and opportunities to help the industry survive and thrive.” In general, fee-paying guests preparing to return to


their favourite attractions will want an environment that’s as safe as possible, which the right technology can directly support, says Andrew – “from providing online ticketing in advance to controlling capacity and guest arrival flow, there are many ways we can help avoid unnecessary bottlenecks. Within the attraction itself, virtual queuing is certainly at the fore, and this is an


area where we as a business have pioneered the way for decades.” Virtual queuing has all sorts of crucial functionalities,


such as enabling a safer on-site flow of guests and contactless ordering of food and beverages. “So, this is an opportunity for us to really respond to the challenge of maintaining social distancing for guests, using the tools that we have to really improve the guest experience, bolster safety and security and enable operators to bring the largest amount of guests safely into the attraction in a way that still delivers that exciting experience.” For Andrew, it’s as much about the guest experience as it is the operator’s bottom line, “to ensure we can all emerge from this intact in a way
