t Edge we believe that profound employer engagement is a key part of a holistic education, making learning relevant to the world of work and

helping young people to make informed choices about their futures. In our recent Skills Shortages Bulletin, we highlighted this year’s Youth

Voice Census Report in which 1,498 14 – 24 year olds shared their views on issues related to education, employment and skills. Young people feel unprepared for the world of work; only 38% believed they understood the skills employers are looking for. Young people want more information on all pathways post-16; they are five times more likely to hear about going to university than apprenticeship routes. Over three quarters recognised the value of work experience, but only 51% had access to it and 80% of young people surveyed had never received a visit from an employer whilst at school. Edge Future Learning can

support schools to develop meaningful relationships with employers through workplace visits and careers events, teacher externships to give educators real-world insight into careers and bespoke learning resources ensuring careers activities are covering off key areas of the curriculum. We’re working with people like the National Theatre, British Gypsum,

Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority and Nottinghamshire City Homes to help schools give their students the best employer engagement opportunities. We’d love you to join our learning revolution.
