t the Bett Sho , 23-26 Januar 2019

January,

hands-on with products and see how they work in a classroom environment. The Solutions Den is back, allowing visitors to see demos and hear the suppliers present their products, while new to the event will be The Escape Room – an immersive and interactive classroom experience designed for visitors to get hands-on with products and learn practical ways to utilise tech in the classroom.

The Education Show: now alongside Bett A big addition to Bett in 2019 is the Education Show, presenting hundreds more education equipment and supplies to improve the running of schools such as furniture and equipment through to teaching resources. Previously held in Birmingham, it brings an offer that includes: publishers and teaching texts from Prim-Ed Publishing, TJ Publishers, Phonic Books, Maths No Problemand Bloomsbury; teaching and student materials from Staedtler, Edding and The Consortium; recruitment assistance from Reed and Governors for Schools; a drive to help improve teaching and educational standards from OCR examination board and Primary Science Teaching Trust; well-being and PSHE teacher resources from the likes of Coram Life. Furniture, classroom and outdoor equipment suppliers include Morleys, Advanced Furniture, Eden Learning Spaces and Playtime by Fawns while Ideal Building Systems provide modular building for expanding schools, plus there are industry giants such as YPO, Kidzania and Pearson Education. The Education Show is taking place on

Thursday 24th and Friday 25th January alongside Bett at ExCeL in London, together providing a

one-stop shop to save visitors time on product research and give them buying confidence with the most comprehensive range of education products available.

CPD and additional learning opportunities There’s even more to Bett than the vast array of products on show. More than 175 speakers will deliver a comprehensive content programme, across the four days at Bett, with CPD accreditation to help listeners make the most of their time at the event. There are four key themes for the event content: 21st Century Skills and Knowledge, Innovation in classroom tech and resources, Institute Tech and Solutions to drive improvements in student outcomes and operations and SEN and Neurodiversity integration. The Bett Arena is the central stage, with highlights of: Dr Mitch Resnick, inventor of Scratch; Mariéme Jamme, internet entrepreneur; Scarlett Lewis, founder of the Choose Love Movement, plus internationally renowned creatives Cressida Cowell, How to Train Your Dragon creator and Anthony Horowitz, Alex Rider creator. For the first time, the Bett Arena has extended opening hours until 7.30pm each week night of Bett, ensuring easy access for those who prefer to travel outside of peak times, or those who work more locally and can come along after school hours. The Schools Theatre and the dedicated Post 16 Theatre in Bett provide additional speaker sessions curated with educators and HE leaders in mind. School leaders and business managers will be spoilt for choice at the stages in the Education Show, offering a further 40 sessions of CPD talks and seminars across three

themes: policy in practice, school business and pedagogy in practice, giving practical advice for running successful schools.

Making connections Much of the UK and international education community descends on Bett making it an ideal place to catch up with colleagues from other schools and a chance to make new contacts. New for 2019, Bett is helping visitors meet new education professionals with its new app featuring the AI-powered ‘Connect@Bett’ service. It can recommend other users of the app that suit users’ search preferences, giving them the chance to issue invitations to meet and have the chance to come together with like-minded educators. Also new for 2019 is the Peer-to-Peer Connect lounge, a free space for visitors to meet those they have connected with via the ‘Connect@Bett’, or existing colleagues, and promises to be a buzzing place to exchange ideas and build meaningful relationships with other establishments amongst the thriving Bett community. Bett’s mission is to bring together people, ideas,

practices and technologies so that educators and learners can fulfil their potential. Underpinning it all is the belief that everyone has a role to play in transforming education, and that education should be accessible and exciting for each and every student.

uBett 2019 will run over four days, from 23 to 26 January 2019 at ExCeL London. For more information and to register for your free pass, visit: www.bettshow.com
