Clarion join casino and gaming industry raising funds for CHIPS charity
C
larion Gaming Managing Director, Kate Chambers, has heralded the ‘phenomenal work’ undertaken by the casino and gaming sectors in raising over £1.75m for CHIPS, the industry charity which provides specialised wheelchairs for children and young people with severe mobility problems.
Speaking following the 16th annual CHIPS Charity Golf Championship, which featured two Clarion Gaming teams, Kate Chambers said: “The casino and broader gaming industry should be extremely proud of its role in helping so many young people experience the gift of mobility and the sense of freedom that engenders - something which the vast majority of us simply take for granted. Not only is this a hugely deserving cause, but many of the exhibitors and visitors who support our events, most notably ICE in London, are also big supporters of CHIPS, so there is an immediate connection and empathy with the invaluable work it undertakes.
“While they may not have quite emulated the feats of notable winners who have played at Woburn, such as Nick Faldo or Greg Norman, it was a pleasure for the Clarion Gaming teams to play the wonderful Marquess Course and join the industry in helping to raise funds to help CHIPS purchase more chairs and
help more families.” Linda Lindsay, co-founder of CHIPS Charity, stated: “Clarion is immersed in the industry and ICE is widely regarded as the international meeting place for gaming. On behalf of CHIPS Charity, I would like to say how immensely grateful we are for the generous support that we receive from all sectors of the gaming community. The industry has a fantastic record for fundraising and we are on schedule to make our 500th presentation towards the close of 2017. This wonderful milestone is due to the generosity and compassion of the gaming industry.” Clarion occupies a unique position in gaming,
providing the full range of services to the global industry, including exhibitions, conferences and technical training, as well digital and print information. ICE is the world’s largest gaming technology exhibition, attracting an audited attendance of 30,213 in 2017. Clarion also organise the world renowned iGaming events, EiG (Berlin), GiGse (San Francisco), iGaming Super Show (Amsterdam) and Affiliate Conferences, as well as the established World Regulatory Briefings, Gaming Congresses in Brazil, Japan and Africa and the Totally Gaming Academy range of training courses.
