With more than 25 years of experience in the gaming industry, Marcel Heutmekers is widely regarded as a proven expert in his fi eld. Over the past 15 years, he has held various senior leadership positions at IGT and, most recently, at Aristocrat. Blümel’s career path is as impressive as it is diverse. After completing his degree in Technical Mathematics at the Technical University of Graz, he entered the gaming industry in 1997 and has since established himself as a respected fi gure over the past three decades. Starting as a mathematician, he quickly turned his focus to game design, where he also gained his fi rst leadership experience. His professional journey then took him into product management, an area to which he has remained committed ever since. Most recently, he served as Vice President of International Product Management at the IGT Group, where he also held managing director roles for several of the company’s subsidiaries. Over the course of his career, the 54-year-old has built up extensive expertise across multiple disciplines experience that will signifi cantly contribute to the strategic realignment of global product organization within the Merkur Games division.
