rofesionales de la industria del juego y apuestas de Latinoamerica tuvieron gran presencia en G2E Las Vegas, el mes pasado, donde los principales proveedores cumplieron con poner fuerte énfasis en el desarrollo del juego presencial, con empresas como Novomatic, Merkur, Aristocrat, Quixant, Interblock, IGT, TCSJOHNHUXLEY, Copag, Zitro, al frente del mercado global. Mientras tanto, el desarrollo regional vio como en Chile, la Superintendencia de Casinos de Juego (SCJ) puso fecha al proceso de otorgamiento de permiso de operación de un casino de juego en la comuna de Puerto Varas, modificando la fecha de presentación de las ofertas técnicas y económicas y fijándola para el lunes 19 de enero de 2026, a las 10:30 horas, en las dependencias de la SCJ, ubicadas en Morandé N°360, piso 4, Santiago.
Por otro lado, en un comunicado, el Intendente de Montevideo, Mario Bergara, dijo que el casino Parque Hotel, bajo la administración de la comuna, debe pasar a ser parte del Estado nacional, pasando, “a la órbita en donde están todos los demás casinos de el país, que es la Dirección General de Casinos, en el Ministerio de Economía”. Sin embargo, la noticia mas importante nos llega de México, donde desde la presidencia hasta el más humilde de los empleados de la industria clama por una nueva Ley de juegos de azar. Bueno, la primera nota es sobre el proyecto de ley del Diputado Mejía para terminar con el obsoleto esperpento de 1947 que aun rige el sector del juego y apuestas del gran país mexicano. ¡Ándele, mi cuate!
En el combate contra el juego ilegal, especialmente online, se puede ver como Brasil busca hacer responsable a los Fintechs cuando realicen transacciones ilegales de apuestas, como reportamos líneas bajo, mientras que, en Argentina, la Lotería de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires realizó un allanamiento contra un influencer que promocionaba y captaba
apostadores para sitios de juego online no autorizados, después de investigaciones impulsadas por la Fiscalía Especializada en Juegos de Azar (FEJA).
Y como el sector del juego de la región no se detiene, el GAT Santo Domingo se nos viene ahorita en la capital dominicana para 12-13 de noviembre, y antes de cerrar el mes, se programa un nuevo evento para el segmento remoto con el iGaming Club Conference en Cancún, México, los días 24-26 de noviembre. ¡Alla nos vemos!

atin American professionals from the gaming and betting industry had a significant presence at G2E Las Vegas last month, where the main industry providers placed strong emphasis on the development of land-based gaming, with companies such as NOVOMATIC, Merkur, Aristocrat, Quixant, Interblock, IGT, TCSJOHNHUXLEY, Copag, Zitro, at the forefront of the global market.
Meanwhile, adding to regional development was Chile, where the Superintendence of Gaming Casinos (SCJ) set a date for the process of granting a casino licence in Puerto Varas, amending the presentation date for technical and economic offers, which has been set for Monday, January 19, 2026 at 10:30 a.m., at the offices of the SCJ located at Morandé No. 360, 4th floor, Santiago.
Eastwards in Latam in Uruguay, the Mayor of Montevideo, Mario Bergara, said that the Parque Hotel Casino, under the administration of the capital city commune, should become part of the State, passing, “to the orbit where all the other casinos in the country are run, which is the General Directorate of Casinos, in the Ministry of Economy.” The most important news, however, comes from Mexico, where from the Presidency to the humblest of industry employees cry out for a new gambling law. Well, our first item below is about Rep. Mejía’s Bill to put an end to the obsolete and grotesque 1947 piece of legislation that still governs the gambling and betting sector of the great Mexican country. Right on, amigos!
In the fight against illegal gambling, especially online, it can be seen how Brazil seeks to hold Fintechs responsible when they carry out illegal betting transactions, as we report below. In Argentina the Buenos Aires City Lottery carried out a raid against an influencer who promoted and recruited bettors for unauthorized online gambling sites, after
investigations promoted by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in Gambling (FEJA).
And as the gaming sector in the region does not stop, the GAT Santo Domingo event is coming up right now in the Dominican capital, over November 12-13, and before closing the month, a new event is scheduled for the online segment with the iGaming Club Conference in Cancun, Mexico, on November 24-26.
