Editor’s comment

Hello and welcome to the halfway point of 2024. Petrifying isn’t it! I know it’s a sign of age, but to me it feels like months pass like weeks, and weeks pass like days – THAT’S how busy we’ve been! Christmas feels like it was both only yesterday and is also just around the corner. I’m surprised the supermarkets ever bother removing their decorations to be entirely honest. I just leave my Christmas tree up all year and change the lighting as is appropriate to the level of rain falling outside (in England you know when summer has arrived by the slightly shallower puddles). Aaaaanyway… I’m pretty

sure no one wants to read 103 words about nothing (go on, count them) so let’s talk about the issue ahead of you! Sharon Harris has part two of her report on the state of industry employment in the USA, we have an excellent interview with Betsson group’s Andrew Gelfi (thanks Ricki!) and Alfastreet introduces us to the V-Line (which sounds like something you should be able to do while wearing rollerblades, but isn’t). As always, we bring you regional expertise from around the world, including the latest news from India thanks to G2G, and a fascinating report from Macau Business’ Tony Lai, looking at how two newly approved gaming legislations are impacting activity in the region. I’m also happy to tell you that as of the word “CHEESE” I’m at 235 words, so can stop talking now. Not that I’m counting. Much. Anyway, enjoy the issue.
