usto cuando la industria de la región reporta crecimiento sostenible en países como Brasil, Colombia, Perú, nos llega la noticia desde México que el Gobierno ha detectado un complejo esquema de lavado de dinero operado a través de 13 casinos, con movimientos irregulares tanto en establecimientos físicos como en plataformas digitales, después de una investigación de análisis financiero realizada durante varios meses. La presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo ha informado que, como parte de las medidas inmediatas, se suspendieron de forma temporal las actividades de los casinos físicos implicados, se bloquearon páginas electrónicas de casinos virtuales y se congelaron cuentas bancarias vinculadas a operaciones irregulares. Con relación al problema del lavado de dinero, el Gobierno de Perú ha implementado un nuevo marco regulatorio que refuerza los controles de prevención de lavado de activos y financiamiento del terrorismo (LA/FT) en el sector de apuestas online. De acuerdo con el análisis de Apuesta Legal, toda apuesta, depósito o premio que supere los USD 2.500 (aprox. PEN 8.900) deberá ser reportado a las autoridades financieras. La medida, oficializada por la Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros y AFP y aplicada a las plataformas con licencia del Ministerio de Comercio Exterior y Turismo, buscando fortalecer los mecanismos de control y transparencia en un mercado en plena consolidación regulatoria. De hecho, en Perú han tocado el tema del lavado de dinero, que venimos proponiendo desde el inicio del juego regulado en 1993, poniendo a las instancias financieras y de banca, al centro mismo en el tráfico de dinero sucio, porque los reportes sobre posible lavado de dinero deben venir de estos, también. ust when the industry in the region reports sustainable growth in countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Peru, we get news from Mexico that the Government has detected a complex money laundering scheme operated through 13 casinos, with irregular movements both in physical establishments and on digital platforms, following a financial analysis investigation carried out during several months. President Claudia Sheinbaum has reported that, as part of immediate measures, all activities at the land-based casinos involved were suspended, virtual casino websites were blocked and bank accounts linked to irregular operations were frozen.

In relation to money laundering problems, the Government of Peru has just implemented a new regulatory framework that reinforces controls for the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing (AML/CFT) in the online betting sector.
According to analysis by Apuesta Legal, any bet, deposit or prize that exceeds USD 2,500 must be reported to the financial authorities. The measures made official by the Superintendence of Banking, Insurance and AFPs and applied to platforms licensed by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, seek to strengthen control and transparency mechanisms in a market which is in full regulatory consolidation.
In fact, Peru is acting on the money laundering issue in a way that we have been proposing since the beginning of regulated gambling in the country in 1993, putting the financial and banking authorities at the very center of dirty money movements, because reports on possible money laundering must come from them.
