50 CATS’ TEXAS FLIP POKER There’s a new game in town…

Texas Flip Poker! Easy to understand, simple to deal; if you have customers that enjoy Texas Hold’em, then GLI-certifi ed Texas Flip from 50 Cats is a game for your fl oor…

For a table game to work, many things have to align: it has to be simple for the dealer to understand, and to deal; it must be very simple for the player to pick up and play; and it has to have an edge of excitement to keep the players coming back for more. 50 Cats has developed Texas Flip Poker as a variant of

the world-famous Texas Hold’em, so it’s a game that should be familiar to poker players everywhere, with a twist.

THE GAME Texas Flip is played between 1-5 players using a standard deck of 52 cards, and starts with each player receiving two hands of two cards each. Each player is playing solely against the dealer, who plays one hand with an open set card (always the queen of hearts) and a second card, revealed at the game’s climax (the dealer always qualifi es) Players can switch their top cards to strengthen their hands and they can double their antes to raise their bets, then when all players are checked or raised, fi ve community cards are dealt. These fi ve cards combined with the player’s individual hands determine who wins and who loses. In Texas Flip, the house edge decreases as the number

of players increases: the more players, the more open cards on the table and the better the decisions the players make. For example, a game with fi ve players reveals 21 open cards. The game’s sociability is encouraged by the

mathematics of the house edge: the more players play and the more hands those players play, the more likely they are to win. Players have an incentive to encourage their friends

to join them at the table where, together, they play against the dealer. Texas Flip is a social game, and transparent. In every round something happens and the players

have reason to wait for it. All the cards are open so people are encouraged to consult and learn from each other, and the dealer doesn’t have to guard the players. No one players decision can effect the other players results. All players decisions are positive No one folds in Texas Flip so all players remain at the

table during the entire game. Play is co-operative rather than competitive: each player plays against the dealer, not against other players so all players can socialise and offer advice. The table becomes a small party that players are unwilling to leave and where they must remain if they are to see the other players’ open cards and make optimal decisions. The dealer’s fi xed card ensures that the dealer

always qualifi es. While other games disappoint players who receive a good hand only to see the dealer fail to qualify, in Texas Flip Poker, every game that begins is played to the end. It’s a game that turns a table into a party, players into

winners and gaming rooms into places that customers won’t want to leave.

THE PHILOSOPHY 50 Cats CEO Carmi Halachmi says the company has

a simple credo: “Here at 50 Cats Ltd we strive to design our games with the values that are relevant to the 21st century. Our mission is to create games that are social, open, and fun for Casino guests. Our games are designed to be an attractive option to experienced visitors while still being easy to learn for both players and the operators.” It’s not just about Texas Flip though – there is much

more to come. He added: “2020 is set to be an exciting year for the business with several new table games in development, and we will continue to innovate in this fi eld concentrating on new tables games for both land-based and digital operations.”
