Suncoast has a new leader with Adam MacIntyre recently appointed as Operations and Complex Director. Adam has been in the hotel and casino industry for 31 years, and is proof of what he believes - what you put in, you will reap. Since his days as a casino dealer in Bristol in the UK, his hard work, effort and continued commitment, have led him to running what he calls the pearl in the Tsogo Sun gaming crown, Suncoast. Adam jumped at the opportunity to be part of


Durban’s most loved entertainment destination. No stranger to the position, after heading up


Emnotweni Casino in Nelspruit since 2017, Adam is ecstatic to be working with a world class team, providing a world class offering, and looks forward to being part of Suncoast’s exciting future. After growing up in West Wales and Bristol and


starting his career in 1989, his experience abroad included working for Stakis Hotels, and contracts in Europe and the UK. In 1992, his career started in South Africa at the Wild Coast Sun and, after six years at the coast, then found himself in


Gauteng. Adam was part of the opening team and Pit Manager of The Dome and later Montecasino, the latter where he worked his way to Tables Manager in 2007. Five years later, he was managing the tables department at Gold Reef City Casino, until 2016, and then spent a year back at Montecasino before joining Emnotweni Casino. Asked what his plans are for Suncoast, Adam


says “To continue the success of this incredible property and to keep pushing and building the Suncoast brand. We all have to weather a storm at the moment, both personally and in the business world, as a result of Covid-19, but this storm will end at some point and we are ready and eager to get back to full capacity and do what we do best, and that is entertain in true Suncoast style”. Adam has moved to Durban with his wife,


Olivia, and daughter Lily-Rose and the family are looking forward to making Durban their home and experiencing all that our wonderful City and Province have to offer.


Sportsbetting and Online Gambling will Double in Africa by 2025 – ICE Africa


Africa’s leading gambling b2b event, ICE Africa, wrapped its 2020 event recently on a high note after moving to an online platform due to the global pandemic. This year’s event mainly focused on the online element of gambling across Africa, and produced a number of key insights around the current explosive growth in online gaming, as well as the predicted future growth in iGaming across the continent. Among the key highlights from the event - is


the current status of Africa as a key growth market and the predicted explosion in online, sportsbetting and mobile gaming in Africa, estimated to double from its $1.5bn of sportsbetting gross win in 2020 (30% of which takes place online and 45% of which is on mobile devices). Ed Birkin of H2 Gaming Capital estimates


that in as little as 5 years, given the growth in mobile connectivity across Africa, this figure will almost double to betting gross win of $2.9bn


Sunbet Pushes Button on Betgames
