Montpellier – The evolution of the “

traditional builders merchant A

cross England the sector is expanding, with 80,855 homes either completed or planned.

The industry estimates investment in the private rented sector could grow to £70 billion by 2022. This could provide a further 15,000 homes each year – with the potential to reach at least 240,000 homes built specifically for private rent – by 2030.” Whilst the contract market in appliance sales to

large developers and house builders continues to increase for the top ten construction companies, self-developing projects also continue to gather pace after the peak levels of a decade ago. In line with this, Montpellier have seen significant movement and change in the traditional builder merchant product offering. More and more merchants are converting their premises to have kitchen and bathroom showrooms. Montpellier have been quick to respond to this, and whilst we continue to see growth through the contract channel, we also look to maximise our brand coverage in the Merchant and Kitchen studio channel. Montpellier has partnered with one of the largest

buying groups for the Merchant market, Fortis. We offer groups like this fantastic pricing on our products, support at their events and training.

We also encourage independent merchants

whom are not members to sell our products. At Montpellier, we offer fantastic support

packages for merchants looking to become a vendor of the Montpellier range. We offer great rates on display products so that consumers can experience the appliances before they buy. As well as supporting those with displays, we also work closely with merchants whom do not stock or display our products. If you do not have the space for a display we can supply POS (point of sale material) that is created by us, dual branded and can be placed on merchants trade counters. This works well with a number of multi branch merchants and means that there is no requirement to stock or have any financial commitment to the products they sell. Since its inception in 2012, Montpellier has been

the number one choice for D.A.D (Domestic Appliance Distributors), who have a UK wide distribution network. Montpellier are firmly cementing their place in the affordable appliance market whilst offering exceptional functionality and style. Hand-in-hand with this, Montpellier hopes to bring back the historic margins in appliance sales. In May 2017, Montpellier launched the Priority Partner Programme which is having great successes

with merchants and retailers. All are able to benefit from fantastic margins on set premium agency products. Montpellier has created this agency agreement to benefit all parties. It protects the products price point whilst also protecting the margin for the agent/merchant. Agents also benefit from fantastic marketing support. Partnering with Builders merchants provides a

fantastic opportunity for more consumers to hear and learn about our products. It is very important for us to get the Montpellier range discussed on a consumer level and any companies that want to join us on our journey to become a trusted and established name in appliance manufacturing will also benefit from this relationship. If you would like to learn more about the range of

products Montpellier have to offer and the support we can provide, please contact our Sales Team.
