Showers, Trays & Enclosures
Enclosed with Luxury… T
he shower enclosure market, in particular the wetroom-style sector, is experiencing good sales growth at present and the future outlook is positive too. Demand for luxurious, design-led enclosures, at affordable prices, continues to prevail and savvy consumers are seeking out spa-like styles, such as the more spacious, walk-in shower models, including frameless and semi-frameless designs that are wetroom compatible.
Comment by Lorren Warrender Showering Product Manager, PJH
As well as the fashion-conscious consumer, who aspires to create a boutique style bathroom in their home, it is also the older generation who have a keen interest in the larger walk-in enclosures, for improved accessibility reasons. In addition, the rise in multi-generational households also contributes to this trend. Ease of use is also key, satisfying the lifestyles of an aging population, the less-able and families with young children. Extra features that simply make life easier (or more luxurious) such as soft-close doors, easy clean glass, rotatable
splash panels and totally hidden fixings – all appeal highly to this large group of target consumers.
In addition, such are the advancements in shower tray technology that now some of the slimline trays are as shallow as 25mm in height, such as our latest range of ultra-slim trays, providing a genuine wetroom alternative without the associated costs and fitting challenges. Such slimline trays allow for a flush fitting with floor tiles for level threshold entry.
Certainly, for the next couple of years, sales of walk-in and wetroom-style enclosures look promising, especially as the housebuilding and home improvement market continues to remain steady.
