Omega PLC puts sustainability at the heart of their production 100% of Omega kitchens are FSC labelled

B

ritish kitchen manufacturers, Omega PLC prioritise sustainability in

production and across all areas of their business. They are proud to supply all their kitchens with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) label. Omega are FSC certified, meaning 100% of the

wood and timber used to produce their kitchens is sourced from well-managed, responsible forests to the highest social and economic standards. The FSC ensures trees are harvested responsibly so there is no net loss of forest over time. Reversing deforestation and maintaining irreplaceable forests are crucial to fighting climate change. Deforestation is also important to ensure biodiversity preservation. Sourcing responsibly does not mean sacrificing

quality or variety. Experts in design, the team at Omega create beautiful and stylish kitchens which respond to the pressures of modern living and positively impact the environment of the home.

Omega place immense value on people, from

their direct employees to the work forces of their partners and suppliers. As part of the FSC certification all workers are provided with proper training and adequate safety protocols. As part of their sustainability journey Omega is

a zero waste to landfill manufacturer. The Yorkshire based business introduced a 100% recycled door range made from recycled wood, upcycled through an eco-friendly process and the kitchen carcasses are made from 35% recycled material using wooden by-products from other industries. In 2021 Omega became part of The Furniture Industry Research Association (FIRA) which supports the furniture supply chain, guiding compliance with sustainability and product testing. Omega PLC CEO Simon Barber says, “Omega is focused on creating long-lasting quality kitchens utilising ethically sourced materials with a conscious move to increase the use of recycled

material. As an organisation, we continue to look at initiatives to improve our sustainability and environmental impact.”

• Omega has been an accredited partner of FSC since 2013.

• Omega became part of FIRA in 2021. • Omega continues to be part of FISP.

• All Omega PLC’s products are manufactured and developed to the highest certified standards ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

• In 2021 Omega implemented the help@hand UNUM app.
