INTERVIEW WITH TRUBLU Q&A

companies have tried to be all things to all people. However, this approach has evolved, with most cloud-based software now offering multiple integration points out of the box. This integration also extends to supplier’s ordering portals, ERP and stock systems.

Matt: What else can we expect from TruBlue in the future? Leigh: We have some wonderful developments planned for the very near future including rolling out to mobile devices, which has already started with our dispatch scanning app. We will be bringing manufacturers, suppliers, retailers and consumers closer together to provide better communication and order management not to mention additional tools for both suppliers and installers.

Matt: As mentioned, you recently picked up KBB Supplier Team of the Year in Blackpool; can you tell us what this means to you and your staff. Leigh: Winning the KBB Supplier Team of the Year award in Blackpool was a wonderful acknowledgment of the team’s dedication and effort over the past three and a half years. Being nominated was already a significant honour, but winning truly topped it off. There were a few emotional moments that night that’s for sure. We are all extremely passionate about supporting our customers and are committed to reversing the trend towards offshoring or reducing support to email only (unless you pay a premium). We believe in good old-fashioned telephone support where the relationship with the customer is paramount.

Since winning the award, which sits proudly on my desk, I have seen an increase in leads and also suppliers wishing to work with us more closely.

Matt: How do you work with suppliers and manufacturers? Leigh: Software companies have historically relied on suppliers as a source of income or expected them to prepare and upload their catalogues themselves. Many suppliers cannot afford the costs or time involved, which means only a select few are represented on these platforms. Not

having all the products in your pricing platform means you have to fall back to a manual system or compile the catalogue yourself, completely defeating the point.

From day one, we were determined to allow any requested supplier to feature their products for free. Not only that, but we also compile and enhance the data for them. We now have over 800 KBB brands, ranging from accessories all the way through to large German kitchen manufacturers.
