A
my Kirk, Engagement Director at the
Bathroom Manufacturers Association, provides a brief overview of the ever-popular BMA Industry Conference and what attendees can look forward to this year Get ready for the BMA’s Annual Industry Conference, set to be the pinnacle event of the year for the bathroom sector. On September 16 and 17, the landmark Queen’s Hotel in Leeds will host two days of dynamic speakers, engaging activities, and networking opportunities.
An exceptional and informative agenda is on offer, now finalised and available for early viewing before tickets sell out. This year’s theme, ‘Building Growth,’ aligns perfectly with the current industry trends and the broader national landscape, especially as the General Election is forecast to deliver a new government. The conference will explore the conditions influencing our industry and the strategies necessary for sustainable growth. The first day is dedicated to BMA members and features a series of specialised workshops. Our relaxed networking dinner in the evening will have a nostalgic ‘90s theme and a pub quiz. Teams will compete for a coveted prize, making for an evening of fun and friendly rivalry.
September 17
Day two begins with open sessions led by industry experts starting at 11.00 AM and includes Jo Salter, famed for becoming the first female fast jet pilot and now a renowned motivational speaker, who will discuss “The Growth Mindset.”
Mohammed Chaudhri, Experian’s Chief Economist and Director of Market Intelligence, will provide insights on economic trends and if growth is realistic, especially pertinent as we may have a new government at the helm. The ever-popular Big Debate will address the glaring inadequacy of housing stock, which has resulted in the UK grappling with a long-running housing crisis with far-reaching consequences for citizens and the economy. The day will culminate with our keynote speaker, Oliver Heath, an industry-recognised expert in biophilic design and sustainable architectural and interior design, who will outline what the future of building has to offer.
Evening highlights
The second evening promises to be unforgettable. It will start with a networking drinks reception and be followed by a black-tie Gala Dinner. The dinner will feature a four-course menu, and the BMA’s Thirty Under Thirty Awards will be presented. Proceeds from a raffle and auction will benefit our charity partner for 2024, the Band of Builders. Don’t miss out on this premier annual event.
