024 has been a busy year so far for Clearwater, with new product launches at kbb Birmingham and much more in the pipeline. “We had a successful trip to Birmingham,” explains Dan, “with great feedback from existing Clearwater customers and newcomers to the brand. Visitors to our stand were among the first to see several new launches in sinks and taps. In the hot water tap market, we introduced Longdon, a 4 in 1 tap with classical styling that is available in three PVD finishes, responding to demand in what is a growing market for this technology.” For sinks, among the highlights were additions to Clearwater’s British Classics ceramic Butler sinks, with fluted fronts. The company also launched Pull-Out Sprays that can be chosen in one of five finishes, perfectly matched with the Clearwater modern and traditional ranges.

Currently advancements in boiling tap technology are allowing the company to be more innovative and creative our tap designs. Dan explains: “No longer do boiling taps have to be to be clunky and cumbersome design that can detract from the elegance or minimalism of your kitchen design. Now we can focus on both design and functionality without compromise.”

“In terms of kitchen tap trends, the primary reason a consumer may pick a boiling or filter tap other than convenience is for their environmental benefit. Using less energy, less water, less plastic and reducing carbon emissions with the reduction of reliance on bottled water. More recently concerns on water quality due to the constant stories of how our water suppliers are mismanaging our waterways have also led consumers to looking for healthier safer water.”

Sustainability is gaining ground too, with taps that use less water and energy, incorporating eco-friendly materials

Dan suggests retailers can attract customers to filter and hot water taps by showcasing their efficiency, sustainability, and convenience. They can point out how these taps save energy by providing hot water instantly, cutting down on the need for kettles and big water heaters. “Sustainable features are a hit too, especially since these taps reduce plastic waste from bottled water. Convenience is a big draw too, and don’t overlook style – there’s something for everyone with the number of finishes and tap styles available now.” Hot water and filter taps are generally designed for easy installation and operation. Most models

can be installed by a skilled DIY enthusiast or a professional plumber, often fitting into existing sink setups without major modifications. “Operating these taps is simple too,” says Dan, “with intuitive controls for temperature and water flow, plus safety features on our Kettle taps to ensure they’re family friendly.”

Clearwater’s multi-function taps are available in a variety of styles and finishes, making it easy to match with both traditional and modern kitchens. PVD finishes are particularly popular, known for being tough and looking great, and available in everything from classic chrome to cool matte black. Traditional kitchens can go for brushed nickel or brass, while modern ones might lean towards sleek stainless steel. This versatility helps technology blend smoothly into any kitchen look. “Kitchen tap technology is evolving toward more smart features, a stronger focus on sustainability, and greater user convenience,” says Dan. “You’ll likely see voice-activated taps, allowing for hands-free operation and useful commands to help with everyday tasks. Sustainability is gaining ground too, with taps that use less water and energy, incorporating eco- friendly materials.”

The future of kitchen taps is all about merging high-tech functionality with eco-friendly elements, creating a seamless and convenient experience for users.
