INDUSTRY UPDATE THE TILE ASSOCIATION COLUMN

TTA expands its member benefits with new strategic partnerships

T

he Tile Association (TTA) has formed a number of recent strategic partnerships to expand its comprehensive range of member discounts and services. These additional benefits support TTA’s dedicated aim, set out as one of three pillars in its strategic plan, to ‘Improve the value of membership and attract, engage and retain more members.’

This year, in order to deliver key advantages for the tiling industry, TTA has worked closely with the National Building Specification (NBS), providers of construction specification information; Worldpay, the UK’s leader in payment solutions; and the British Standards Institute (BSI), the UK’s national standards body.

As a result of these partnerships, TTA members now benefit from:

• 25% discounts on documents purchased with the British Standards Institute (BSI)

• Three months free terminal rental, discounted rental rates and more with Worldpay

• 20% discount on first-year subscriptions to NBS Source and the RIBA CPD Providers Network

Assisting tile fixers, retailers, manufacturers and members involved in the specification process, these partnerships strengthen TTA’s leading role as the UK trade association for the whole of the tiling industry. Driving quality in the built environment, collaborating with BSI and NBS reinforces TTA’s aim to raise tile and tiling standards.

The new partnerships add to the wealth of member discounts that TTA already offers, which includes: a free B2B credit check service and business support helplines; a 20% discount on TTA Technical Inspections; an almost 40% discount on TSJ annually; a discounted rate of £50+VAT to submit editorial in Tilezine; a £100 discount on NVQ Level 2 qualifications; and £50 cashback if you take public liability insurance with PIB Insurance Brokers.

UWLA launches animated Water Matters film at the Installer Show

he Unified Water Label Association (UWLA) launched an animated film to support installers and help them communicate the Water Matters message to their customers, at the InstallerSHOW, which was held in June. The short informative film seeks to address the ‘Why should I bother?’ mind-set and shows installers how they can play a major role in changing consumer behaviour and make a tangible difference to the sustainability agenda.

T

UWLA MD Yvonne Orgill says, “For many consumers, water efficiency and conservation are now a key part of their buying behaviour when choosing products or suppliers. Installers are in a unique position to advise and educate consumers. Government research has indicated over 60% of sales were influenced by the installer, illustrating that they are in a unique position to recommend products that deliver the savings consumers are looking for.

“With so many innovative products available that deliver both great performance and significant savings on both water and energy, it can be overwhelming for consumers to know which product is best for them. The Unified Water Label displays product performance, water usage, energy efficiency, and product and technical details. The QR code also gives access to more free advice and brochures. “By promoting UWL products, installers can help inspire consumers to make small but important changes to how they use water at home.

“We hope that installers will love our new film. We also have a range of other helpful tools, such as a

marketing pack which includes flyers, posters, social media posts and videos, with tips and advice on how to save water in the home. “Installers can also utilise the Water Calculator on the UWLA website to find out how much water different products use, with more than 24,000 products currently registered, there is no shortage of products for installers to promote.

The new animated film can be found on the UWLA website. www.uwla.eu
