national lockdown as the Coronavirus pandemic continues to impact us all personally and commercially. Looking at the kitchen retail and contract industry in particular, BLANCO UK is reassuring customers, suppliers and other stakeholders alike that the flexible, professional “team” continues to deliver the normal level of service throughout the coming weeks of lockdown. team and a full complement of staff supporting customers will remain fully operational. However, to protect the safety of the team, customers and the general public, business functions are working from home with successfully tried and tested methods to ensure as little disruption as possible. The warehouse team is already operating in a socially-distanced way, with strict safety measures and procedures in place throughout the building. Drivers will also continue their non-contact delivery procedures to ensure their own and customers’ safety. BLANCO’s primary objectives include the ongoing safety of our colleagues and customers,

TUKC Urges Positive Action Around New Green Awareness Days T
he Used Kitchen Company (
www.theusedkitchencompany.com)
is approaching the third UK lockdown with huge positivity, announcing two new eco awareness days that could benefit the kitchen trade at just the time the country emerges from lockdown three. The first will be an annual event – ‘No Skip
Sunday’, taking place, on the Sunday on which the clocks skip forward an hour. This is at the start of the DIY season, when losing an hour could make a lazier option of throwing out, rather than recycling a kitchen, a temptation. This year, it could occur just after or before
lockdown three ends. This provides kitchen showrooms with every incentive to move on some ex-display kitchens during the coming weeks, so kitchens are already listed when an anticipated renovation boom occurs. A quick sale means some cash coming back into the business. The inaugural ‘No Skip Sunday’ will take place
on Sunday, March 28, 2021, just six days after the international eco-celebration, Earth Day. The Used Kitchen Company is already issuing lots of positive messaging about kitchen recycling and its benefits for the planet. Building on this, is TUKC’s new ‘Kitchen
Passport Week’ – running from May 17 each year and starting on the day dedicated to San Pasqual, the patron saint of kitchens.
Kitchen Passport Week will signpost homeowners towards the groundbreaking
www.mykitchenpassport.com, founded by TUKC as possibly the first response to the call for product passports in the Government’s Resources & Waste Strategy of two years ago. This awareness day offers the opportunity for
any showroom involved with Kitchen Passport, to showcase their green credentials and attract kitchen buyers with similar values. With potential time on their hands now, showrooms could already be creating Kitchen Passports and making a noise about it, to keep in touch with their customers.
TUKC’s CEO, Looeeze Grossman, says: “Now
is the ideal time for showrooms to proceed with any changes of displays they may be planning in 2021. Lockdown also presents them with the opportunity to work with Kitchen Passport and create passports for all the kitchens they have sold and are selling. “When they become Kitchen Passport
partners, they can use the initiative’s green logos and stickers for promotional purposes. Consumer research tells us that eco-principles are vital for the future success of businesses. Kitchen Passport is a very easy route to take, if you wish to boost your green credentials and add some future- proofing to your business by doing so.” TUKC is confident another boom will come at
the end of lockdown, just as has been the case after 2020’s lockdowns. With every penny counting right now, and the need to keep the consumer on-side mattering more than ever before, refreshing showrooms, with the help of TUKC’s activities and awareness days, is a great opportunity for all. To work with TUKC, or become a Kitchen
Passport partner, simply email or call Looeeze and her team.
