Multiwood launch sensational prototype of KBB 2016 – Halton A
fter a highly active and successful 2016 for kitchen door and accessory distributor Multiwood, 2017 has picked up right where 2016 left off. Following the completion of the new 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse extension, Multiwood have launched their first new range of the year, Halton. The launch has been driven by the overwhelmingly positive feedback towards a prototype door previewed at KBB 2016. The fingerprint and scratch-resistant super-matt really impressed and there was amazement that a budget matt and gloss range could be produced that maintained the high quality associated with a Multiwood product. Furthermore, the introduction of more new, exciting ranges are planned for this year. The must-have kitchen trends for 2017 focus on form, function and aesthetics. Handle-less units look to be in demand as a linear look is very popular in today’s modern kitchen, predominantly in gloss
finishes and grey, natural tones, creating a sleek, simple look. 2017 is likely to see a rise in the demand for grey, black and white tones in the kitchen, with matt finishes becoming very popular.
Complementing the main colour trend for grey tones is the use of metal finishes, such as copper and brass coloured handles and accessories, as people looked to move away from the traditional stainless steel and black in 2016.
Multiwood have introduced the handle-less Gola rail profile to enable designers to create a true, handle-less, Germanic-style kitchen. Halton is a PET foil wrapped and edged MDF door, is 19mm thick and benefits from the latest advancements in foil technologies. The super-matt is highly resistant to fingerprints and scratches, giving consumers the peace of mind that their perfect, handle-less kitchen is going to last and survive the rigours of modern life. Available in Sahara, White and Grey, and with the ability to seamlessly blend a combination of matt and
gloss, designers have the freedom to create a two- tone kitchen comprising must-have colours. As well as the opportunity to use the handle-less design, Multiwood have introduced 50 new handles to their collection to work with the more conventional style of kitchen. These include copper T-bar handles, black matt handles and Furnipart brass Edge handles. The image (bottom middle) showcases how the copper handles can be used to accentuate Halton’s design, especially when used with the matt Grey and Sahara, beautifully combining multiple must-have trends within the same kitchen (below right). Halton is priced to suit both the contract and price-sensitive markets, bringing a must-have door at an affordable price.
