Kitchen Ranges
A year for growth H
ere at System Six Kitchens we are feeling very positive about the marketplace. Although it has admittedly been a turbulent past six to twelve months for some, our outlook and growth figures remain entirely positive. In 2016 we added substantial growth and we have a clear strategy for growth in 2017.
Comment by Tom Dalton Sales Director, System Six Kitchens
As a manufacturer in particular there is a significant opportunity for expansion post- Brexit. A void is beginning to open as European manufacturers are being priced out of the market due to pricing and currency fluctuations. This void creates an exciting opportunity for UK-based manufacturers, like ourselves, and we welcome the chance to help our customers expand into this sector. In terms of trends, we will be continuing to focus on our handle-less ranges, particularly Aluma, our true handless range. Our focus on colours will remain with the popular light grey palettes so prevalent at the moment. There does appear to be a transition period on the
horizon, with a move to much darker, moodier colours and spaces. This is something we are starting to experiment with to remain ahead of the curve.
Our product development team are always on the look-out for new trends and we are constantly reminded that in this business it pays to be flexible and adapt quickly. In a marketplace where the future will be labelled ‘uncertain’ for a long time to come, this attitude should allow us to continue our growth into 2017 and beyond.

Investment pays off at System Six Kitchens D
evelopment continues apace for System Six Kitchens, where the last six months have seen substantial investment – adding up to over £1,000,000. September saw the installation of a £120,000 state-of-the-art hot- air edgebander, October the launch of a new brand and the January blues were combatted with the delivery of one of two brand new Nesting machines.
The new edgebander - Biesse ‘Akron 1440’ - makes it possible to achieve invisible edgebanding with no joints and no glue lines. It also enables a waterproof finish on doors, whilst giving them the appearance of a wrapped door. The high quality
doors – already a source of pride for System Six Kitchens – are getting even better.
The new Nesting machines will enable a 30% rise in production rates. They will also utilise improved software and take up less factory space. These machines, combined with extensions to buildings to cater for growth, will allow System Six to increase capacity, quality and service for their customers. The work continues outside the factory as well. October saw the launch of a new brand under the System Six banner; Express Kitchen Store. Aimed at studio customers looking to offer a rigid kitchen at a price competitive enough to see off competition from the national sheds.
In 2016 System Six Kitchens saw substantial growth, exceeding the projections of the board’s business plan. With these exciting developments 2017 looks set to be another record breaker.
