Theo Constanti, Founder and Managing Director of The Marble Group, was one of just three winners of the 2026 Stelios Awards for Disabled Entrepreneurs, beating 120 applicants from across the UK to secure the national award and earning £100,000. He immediately gave £30,000 of it back to his local community. Matt Broughton asked the questions…
Matt: Can you remind everyone where you sit in the industry and what products you provide. Theo: The Marble Group is a leading UK stone fabricator, supplying and installing bespoke marble, granite, quartz and porcelain worktops. We work with homeowners, kitchen retailers and developers, managing everything from sourcing the stone to fabrication and installation. My partner Micheal and I set up the business 19 years ago in my dad’s garage, and now we have two warehouses, 100+ staff, and have won numerous awards. We are very proud of what we have accomplished so far.
Matt: Tell us how you came to be involved in the Stelios Awards for Disabled Entrepreneurs. Theo: I applied after hearing about the awards through my network and thought it was a
fantastic opportunity to celebrate disabled entrepreneurs. Receiving a £100,000 grant was an incredible honour and a real recognition of the journey we’ve been on. I met so many inspirational business owners along the way, and its proof that you can’t let a disability stop you.
Matt: You immediately pledged £30k of your award to three different areas. Please take us through each one, why they are important to you, and what you’re hoping the money will bring to those groups. Theo: Giving back was something I wanted to do from the moment I won. I’ve worked with local schools for over 12 years, trying to help young people get into business. A sizeable donation is going to Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice in memory of my close friend, Lee (who sadly left
behind a wife and two young kids), whose legacy means a great deal to me. The remainder will fund a competition for young founders from Year 11, 12 or 13, giving the winner a £10,000 grant to help kick-start their business journey, and Grassroots women’s youth football, helping provide opportunities, equipment and support for the next generation of players. I hope each donation makes a real difference and helps others achieve their potential.
Matt: This feels like a milestone in an already-dramatic journey for you; did you ever imagine you’d hit such successes? Theo: Success is in the eye of the beholder, but I would say that I have always dreamt big and continue to do so. After my accident, my focus was on rebuilding my life and making something
