Zeitgeist REVELLING IN RUBIES

The next major milestone is the ruby anniversary, marking 40 years. Rubies are renowned for their deep red colour and are often associated with passion, strength, and vitality. These characteristics make them a fitting symbol for organisations that have thrived for four decades. This year, Digidelta celebrate 40 years of business and its ruby anniversary highlights the impact that the company has had on the industry, with its innovations, customer service and event presence. A ruby anniversary celebrates not only longevity but also the continued energy and relevance that enable a business to remain competitive.

UNWAVERING GRANITE Moving further along the anniversaries, granite highlights the remarkable achievement of a 90th anniversary, which is referred to as a Granite Jubilee.

Celebrating the gems of the industry

ANNIVERSARIES ARE AN OPPORTUNITY TO REFLECT ON ACHIEVEMENTS, CELEBRATE SUCCESS, AND RECOGNISE THE CONTRIBUTIONS MADE BY INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANISATIONS OVER TIME. WITH SO MANY REACHING BIG MILESTONES THIS YEAR WE TAKE A LOOK AT SOME OF THE INDUSTRY TITANS’ WITH KEY ANNIVERSARIES.

Milestone anniversaries carry a special significance. They mark endurance, growth, innovation, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Traditionally, significant anniversaries are associated with gemstones, jewels, or rocks. These symbols represent the value and durability of the achievement being celebrated. Much like precious stones formed over many years, successful businesses are built through persistence, expertise, and resilience. Within the print industry, milestones highlight the companies and organisations that have helped shape the sector through decades of dedication and progress.

As companies reach notable anniversaries,

the associated gems provide an appropriate tale for their history.

PEARL PARTY An industry heavyweight is celebrating its 30th anniversary, which is often associated with pearls. Pearls are unique among gemstones because they are created through a gradual process, symbolising patience and refinement. Celebrating a pearl anniversary is an acknowledgement of three decades of development and achievement, with understanding the patience and hard work it took to get there. And Hybrid Services is no different, with a long, continued partnership with Mimaki, and through innovation and adaptability, they have been able to reach its pearl milestone.

Granite is one of the strongest and most durable natural materials, making it an ideal symbol for a company that has stood the test of time. Durst reaches this its ninth decade in business this

year, having recently just announced its new Kyveris system, along with the multiple new innovations it has produced the industry throughout the years. Few organisations achieve such longevity, and doing so requires continual adaptation to changing markets, technologies, and customer needs. A Granite Jubilee reflects stability, reliability, and an enduring commitment to excellence, and Durst has shown that.

THE QUASQUICENTENNIAL Perhaps the most significant anniversary mentioned is the quasquicentennial, marking 125 years of helping and advocating for the industry. While this anniversary doesn’t have a gem, stone or rock attached to it, this impressive anniversary highlights dedicated, perseverance and belongs a steadfast memeber of the printing industry – the British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF). Reaching 125 years is a rare accomplishment that reflects an organisation’s ability to remain relevant across multiple generations. During that time, the printing industry has undergone dramatic transformations, from traditional print processes to digital technologies and advanced production methods. The BPIF’s long tenure demonstrates its ongoing role in supporting, representing, and advancing the interests of the printing community.

THE GEMS IN THE STONE These milestone anniversaries remind us that success is rarely achieved overnight. Behind every anniversary are years of hard work, innovation, leadership, and dedication.

The gemstone and rock associations provide a meaningful way to celebrate these achievements while recognising the unique qualities that each milestone represents. From the pearl anniversary of Hybrid to the quasquicentennial of BPIF, these organisations stand as examples of resilience and achievement within the print industry.

But more than that they represent the importance

and need for the print industry, and how it is still going strong today.
