In-house drilling service
Ground source heat pump specialist Kensa has set up its first dedicated in-house drilling service. The company says this will enable it to meet the anticipated rise in demand for the mass-scale deployment of ground source heat pumps, ensuring rapid, affordable and high-quality GSHP solutions that can be delivered efficiently and at scale. Kensa will continue to work
with its existing drilling suppliers, but investment in its own in-house drilling capabilities will help to drive down costs and add resilience to the existing supply chain. It is claimed that by 2040, up
to 8,000 UK homes a week could be connecting to ground source heat pumps, primarily through a networked heat pump model which is expected to attract over £100 billion in investment and create tens of thousands of jobs. Camilla Barrow, chief
operations officer at Kensa, says: “Through this new capability we’re delivering certainty for our clients and will be as prepared as possible to efficiently service the expected increase in demand for ground source heat pump systems, supplying more homes with heating that’s better for people and the planet.” ◼
