Screwfi x invests in electric

As part of its commitment to reducing its carbon emissions, Screwfi x has announced the addition of its fi rst electric heavy goods vehicles to its logistics operations. The electric HGVs boast an impressive range of 200 miles per charge, depending on driving style, road conditions, and weather. Each truck can complete a route with up to fi ve deliveries before requiring a recharge, aligning with the current operational effi ciency of Screwfi x’s existing fl eet. To support the deployment of these

electric HGVs, Screwfi x has installed dedicated charging stations at its Lichfi eld Distribution Centre (DC). The electricity used for charging is sourced from renewable

energy, including power generated from the DC’s large solar panel installation, further reinforcing Screwfi x’s commitment to sustainability. The electric trucks will operate on shorter-

range routes from the Lichfi eld DC, servicing stores across the Midlands regions, including deliveries to Birmingham, ensuring zero- emission deliveries in one of the UK’s major cities. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/325/10

With reference to last month’s cover story on damp and mould issues: We are aware of the growing concern around inadequate heating and the resulting rise in mould complaints, an issue that aff ects more than 60% of households across the UK. We understand how these issues can lead to discomfort and health concerns. Mould thrives in damp environments,

often caused by poor ventilation and inadequate heating. Ensuring your home is properly heated and ventilated can signifi cantly reduce the risk of mould formation and improve indoor air quality. Nexgen Heating is proud to lead the

way in innovative heating solutions. Our smart heating systems, equipped with advanced temperature and controls, are designed to maintain an optimal indoor climate, reducing the risk of dampness and mould growth. These systems ensure consistent heating, even in areas that are often overlooked in traditional setups. In addition to combating mould,

our energy-effi cient heating systems help homeowners reduce their energy consumption, lowering bills while contributing to a greener, more sustainable environment. By using these heating systems, homes can maintain the right temperature, which not only prevents mould but also supports energy effi ciency eff orts. Customer feedback consistently

highlights the diff erence our Far Infra- red heating solutions make. One recent customer, a social housing tenant, reported a signifi cant reduction in mould and damp-related issues after installing

our technology. The data showed that 35% humidity dropped to 5% humidity within fi ve days. We believe that proactive investment in reliable heating systems leads to healthier environments. At Nexgen Heating, we believe that

informed homeowners are empowered homeowners. That’s why we provide resources to help our clients understand how eff ective heating can prevent not only mould, but also other health risks associated with poor air quality and cold. Our experts can evaluate the heating

system and recommend the best course of action to improve both comfort and health, thereby ensuring that homes remain warm, healthy, and mould-free.
