Teaming up to promote heat pump brand
A new partnership has been announced between plumbing and heating merchant City Plumbing and Midea Cooling & Heating (UK & Ireland), the manufacturer of air-to-water heat pumps. The agreement, which will give installers easier access to the brand’s price-competitive renewable heating solutions, was officially signed at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium, where Midea is a global partner, and. Hemal Morjaria, MD for Energy Efficiency & Electrical at City Plumbing, comments: “Midea’s emphasis on installer support, product performance and warranty assurance has made it a very compelling brand in the UK heat pump sector
today. We are committed to making sustainable heating accessible to every installer across the UK. This partnership allows us to offer an even stronger proposition in-store and online, ensuring that our customers have the tools, products and service they need to deliver exceptional low-carbon solutions to homeowners.” Midea’s offering includes a three-year service option, where installers are rewarded for taking care of the company’s products. The company says it is confident that the new partnership will help to accelerate the adoption of low-carbon heating across the UK. ◼

Backing for renewables
Wolseley Group has opened its second Renewables Centre, designed to help trade professionals meet the growing demand for low-carbon installations. Based in Swansea, the new facility follows the launch of the first Renewables Centre in Shrewsbury earlier this year and is the latest of several planned openings in locations across the UK. Conveniently located next to the Swansea Plumb Centre site, the building was opened during a discovery day, where local installers were invited to meet experts and learn more about the training courses, installation support and design guidance available. Dan Marsden, director of renewables at Wolseley Group, comments: “Since launching earlier this year, we’ve
seen overwhelming
enthusiasm from installers looking to enhance their skills and capitalise on the rapidly growing renewables market. The government is making significant investments into the low-carbon sector and we want to help installers play their role by providing the training, skills and confidence needed to succeed.” ◼
