Eizo unveils ultrawide, curved monitor with built-in webcam, microphone, and USB-C dock
THE FLEXSCAN EV3450XC is a 34.1-inch ultrawide, curved monitor designed to meet the evolving needs of modern business professionals. With a UWQHD (3440 x 1440) resolution and a 21:9 aspect ratio, it offers 2.4 times the resolution of standard Full HD monitors Modern laptops often lack
sufficient connectivity, a gap filled by the EV3450XC’s USB Type-C docking station capabilities – enabling video display, audio playback, USB signal transmission, and up to 94W of power delivery to connected devices, streamlining hot desking and remote work setups. The monitor includes a dedicated LAN port to ensure a stable wired network connection when linked to a laptop via USB Type-C. This is particularly beneficial for reliable conference calls and high-speed data transfers. The 5-megapixel webcam provides vibrant, high-definition video for web meetings. It supports Windows Hello for quick, secure PC access via facial recognition, eliminating the need for passwords.
The built-in microphone has advanced noise-cancelling technology, which filters out background noise and focuses
on human voices. An echo- cancelling function further ensures clear audio. Despite integrating stereo speakers into the monitor, Eizo has managed to maintain a slim design. The placement of 4-watt speakers within the cabinet delivers sound suitable for individual use and small conference rooms. Eizo’s proprietary EcoView technologies automatically adjust the screen’s brightness according to ambient lighting to maintain optimal viewing conditions. The monitor also
features a flicker-free display, anti-glare coating, a blue light reduction function, and a paper mode to help users concentrate on work by keeping their eyes comfortable throughout the day. Eizo’s ScreenInStyle software optimises comfort, productivity, and energy efficiency for FlexScan monitors. It features ‘Auto Colour Mode’ for application-specific colour settings, power management to reduce energy consumption and multi-monitor support for synchronized settings. The software allows easy adjustment of monitor settings from the desktop, includes a task scheduler to automate routines, and offers auto-dimming.
TP-Link UK launches Layer 3 Managed Switches
TP-LINK UK has launched its Layer 3 (L3) Managed Switches to its B2B-focused networking brand, Omada. These switches bolster the capabilities of Omada’s Software-Defined Networking (SDN) system, catering to the networking needs of medium-sized businesses requiring high reliability, availability, and scalability. The Omada range delivers dependable, professional, and innovative solutions for enterprise networking. The lineup of Omada L3 Switches includes five stackable L3 Managed Switches, ranging from gigabit PoE and non-PoE to 25G aggregation/core layer switches. Designed for medium-scale businesses, these switches provide high reliability, future-proof scalability, and specialised L3 functions, making them ideal for businesses seeking a robust core switch. The L3 managed switches provide a range of benefits for businesses:
• High-Speed and Flexible Connectivity – The aggregation/ core switch, SX6632YF, is equipped with 6 x 25G SFP28 ports and provides up to 820 Gbps switching capacity per unit. The four PoE or Non-PoE access switches provide four or six 10G uplink and 24× or 48× gigabit ports, providing flexible solutions to meet business needs.

• Powerful Stacking – L3 switches are particularly advantageous where a high percentage of the network traffic is east-west traffic, for example when users have access to internal servers and other internal resources such as printers. With up to 8× physical stacking units, TP-Link Omada’s networking structure is fortified with built-in redundancy and performance. Testing confirms enterprise-level reliability that switching link time is under 200ms when a link failover occurs. Users can therefore reliably maintain service levels during outages or disruptions.
• Abundant Layer 3 Capabilities – Omada L3 switches are dependable for networking architecture. Stacking and robust hardware-level redundancies ensure uninterrupted device operation and network stability. Additionally, ERPS provides rapid protection and recovery in ring topologies. Providing high Power Over Ethernet (PoE) capability, enhanced security functions that enable businesses to defend against a range of network threats, and convenient maintenance and management, Omada L3 switches provide users with dependable networking architecture.
