Inside Madison’s New Line of RHEON Protection


A few years ago, Madison quietly brought protection into its kit lineup. Now, in 2026, they have collaborated with RHEON to launch a new range of knee and elbow protection. We talk through the new products, the collaboration and how things might progress in future.


When protection first appeared in the Madison range, it seemed to arrive without much fanfare. Was this a deliberate choice to let the product prove itself before scaling up, or was it simply seen as a natural extension of existing apparel lines? The honest answer is both. Adding protection to the Madison lineup felt like a very natural progression, but we also made a deliberate decision to introduce these products gradually. As this was a new direction for Madison, we wanted to ensure we had the opportunity to listen to rider feedback properly and evolve the range in a considered way.

Was the move to develop protection driven by internal R&D, or were retail partners and riders actively asking for a Madison-branded solution to complement existing offerings, to be more of a complete package? The initial move was largely driven by our R&D team and sponsored riders, but the decision to expand the range has been strongly influenced by positive rider feedback and direct requests from our retail partners for specific products within the lineup.
