How secure is the AIRLOK? We always knew the AIRLOK was a strong piece of kit - we obviously do a lot of testing on our products ourselves, but the diamond rating just backs that up. Which Hiplok products now have the Diamond rating? Some of our key products have been reassessed by Sold Secure and recategorized to Diamond level security. This includes the full Hiplok DX D-lock range. As with all of our locks we designed the DX to be convenient and easy to carry, so whilst it’s super strong, it has also been weight optimised. Hiplok DX is actually the lightest diamond rated bike lock currently on the market. Our home security products, AIRLOK and ANKR are now
also Diamond rated. Over half of all bike thefts happen in or around the home, which means good home security for your bike is really important, so it’s great to know that our products can offer that peace of mind (although we always knew they were pretty tough!).
What makes the DX so strong? Well to get the diamond rating it will have been subjected to a five-minute attack test by Sold Secure with the greatest range of attack tools, including the largest bolt croppers and drilling with high speed steel drill bits. It also has a double dead lock and anti-rotation locking, so a thief would have to break through both sides of the 14mm hardened steel shackle to get the lock off. And that’s the case across our full range of DX products, including the DXF, which comes with a frame bracket for your bike and the DXC which includes an additional cable to secure your wheels and accessories.

We hear you have something really special in the pipeline? Yes, the Hiplok D1000 – the world’s first truly portable anti- angle grinder bike lock. It’s so strong that Sold Secure have rated it as Motorcycle Diamond, which is a level above the standard Bicycle Diamond. This means it has to withstand a 90 second sustained angle grinder attack. In fact, it far surpasses the 90 second test undertaken by Sold Secure, the independent tests lasting up to 20 minutes and destroying multiple grinder discs in the process. We’ve had some great reviews from the bicycle and
