INTERVIEW
You have refreshed your point-of-sale and display concept for retail stores. Talk us through what’s new and why now was the right time for the redesign? We have developed a new POP strategy with a very specific goal: to make fizik’s distinctive values immediately recognisable and to create a strong visual impact within the store. The heart of the project is a modular, flexible and intuitive display system, designed to guide customers through product discovery, even independently. From an aesthetic point of view, we chose an essential and contemporary language: few elements, but with high perceived quality, capable of enhancing the product without overcrowding the display space. Why now? Because retail has changed. Today, consumers
enter the shop having already gathered a lot of information online, and they expect an experience that is consistent with the digital one. The store is no longer just a place to buy a product, but a space to understand, try and compare it. Therefore, it was the right time to align the physical experience with what the brand offers through its digital channels, helping the retailer transform interest into a purchase. This approach also allows us to pursue three other concepts
that are particularly close to our core: ● Market adoption: the flexible approach makes the
concept adaptable on a global scale (worldwide).
● Brand consistency: flexible adoption, yet guided by brand guidelines, helps us maintain total consistency of image and communication internationally.
● Durability: the new POPs are designed to be long-lasting; they are made of clear-coated raw sheet metal, and we can also wrap them with magnetic graphics to adapt them to every new product launch.
What are the practical, real-world problems with standard retail merchandising that these new display materials are designed to solve? Do they help staff show off complex tech like 3D-printed Adaptive padding? The real-world problems of traditional retail relate to generally limited space, highly crowded environments and the resulting information overload for the consumer. With the new concept, we wanted to overcome these
obstacles by creating tools capable of telling the product’s story clearly and immediately, enhancing its display. This allows customers to find their bearings independently, leaving staff with the time to dedicate to more qualified consultation. Consequently, this approach makes it possible to best
showcase and enhance even complex technological innovations (such as the 3D-printed Fizik Adaptive
