Thomas Mertin, Lightweight
Thomas Mertin has joined the Lightweight development team as project leader and development engineer. Mertin, the founder and former owner of the THM brand, has many years of expertise in developing and producing lightweight components for the bicycle industry, using carbon fibre composites. He took up the role at the German wheel manufacturer on 1st February. ■

Kids bike brand Huffy has announced four new appointments for its UK wing. Rachael Bradshaw now
takes on a role as UK sales manager, following on from her experience at toy firms Maclaren, Mega Bloks and Zapf Creation. Bradshaw will be joined by sales agent Ian Rice, who will manage the company’s independent toy channel. travel commissioner Britain’s most successful Paralympian Dame Sarah Storey has been appointed as active travel commissioner for Manchester. Dame Sarah, who has previously worked as a policy advocate for British Cycling and recently left her role as active travel commissioner for South Yorkshire, will take over the role in Manchester from Chris Boardman. ■

Aoife Glass has been appointed as digital editor for MBR magazine.
