Simon Wright has been announced as the Chairman of the London Chocolate Forum 2024, marking his fourth time leading the event

he London Chocolate Forum is delighted to announce that Simon Wright will be chairing
the prestigious event for the fourth time. With his extensive expertise and unwavering commitment to sustainable chocolate, Simon’s leadership is set to ensure another successful and insightful forum. Simon Wright, a renowned figure in the chocolate industry, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role. Currently a consultant to ICAM (Italy), Simon has been instrumental in the development of private-label chocolate bars for supermarkets globally. His passion for sustainable and ethical chocolate production is evident through his involvement in the establishment of Green & Black’s, known for its organic chocolate, and Divine, a pioneer in Fairtrade chocolate. Simon’s contributions extend beyond manufacturing, as he has also played a significant role in the retail sector. He has worked with Sainsbury’s to develop their So Organic range, further promoting sustainable food options. His academic background includes a degree in Food Science & Nutrition, and he holds prestigious positions as a Fellow of the Institute of Food Science and Technology and a Member of the Guild of Food Writers. In addition to his industry roles, Simon actively contributes to several key organisations. He is a member of the Soil Association Standards Board, chairs the Oversight Committee of Fairtrade

International, and sits on the main board of the Fairtrade Foundation. Simon also chairs the Quality Food Awards judging panel and is a member of Defra’s Expert Group on Organic Production (EGOP). “I am honoured to chair the London Chocolate Forum once again,” said Simon Wright. “The forum is a crucial platform for discussing the future of chocolate, from sustainability and ethical sourcing to innovative production techniques. I look forward to engaging with industry leaders and
