Lollipop forming solution for Stanton and Novelty

Stanton & Novelty Confectioners is a family-owned UK-based business, established in 1969. Today it serves both independent retailers and wholesalers across the UK and Europe, in addition to supplying holiday and theme parks. When the company identified an opportunity to produce round ball lollipops it set out to find an automated forming solution that could be integrated into its current candy cooking, batch rolling and rope sizing systems. Having spoken to Loynds, the solution consisted of a ball lollipop forming machine and a separate lollipop bunch wrapping machine. The lollipop forming machine has a capacity of up to 800 formed lollipops per minute while the wrapping machine can process up to 115m lollipops per minute. Stanton and Novelty needed only minimal assistance to integrate the new equipment into its factory. Initial training was provided on the

knowledge, installation assistance and training were invaluable to our process. Our exact needs were met and from delivery of the machine to production of the first batch of ball lollipops was a matter of hours. The production process was designed to be seamless and with minimal interaction needed, meaning

machinery chosen is essential for a successful and cost-effective outcome. Offering advice to other confectionery producers who may be considering extending their product range with the addition of lollipops, Loynds suggests the following factors should guide the decision-making process: Speed: It is important to match machine output with production targets. Space: The production space available will impact what forming options may be the best fit. Consider that some forming options may also require the use of other machinery to run alongside it. Wrap style: Some forming options also wrap the lollipop. For others, a separate stand-alone packing or wrapping machine may be required.
