Five start-ups selected for SBC First Pitch in Lisbon
Five start-ups have been selected to compete in SBC First Pitch at SBC Summit 2026 in Lisbon on 1 October. Organised in partnership with BettingStartups, the competition will see Betsy, Gmonitor,
InsightPlay.ai, Safefy and Whizgen AI present their products to investors, operators and industry decision-makers. The fi nalists cover areas including social prediction gaming, competitive intelligence, player engagement, transaction monitoring, customer support and player retention, with AI featuring prominently across several propositions.
Each company will have three minutes to pitch followed by a three-minute Q&A with the judging panel. The winner will receive a package of services and support valued at €139,400.
Gamble-Pause launches pan-African blocking app
Gamble-Pause, the safer gaming charity partner of WorldGaming, has launched a gambling- blocking application designed specifi cally for African markets.
The Gamble-Pause App allows users to voluntarily block access to licensed, unlicensed and offshore gambling platforms for a minimum of one year through its Pan-African Guard system.
The platform also restricts access to prediction markets and related services, while device-level parental controls are designed to reduce young people’s exposure to gambling content. Users can report illegal operators to help update the service’s database. Other functionality includes progress monitoring, milestone tracking and access to educational and support resources. The app supports more than 40 African languages and includes live chat and telephone support providing responsible gambling and counselling assistance in local languages. Founder Ladipo Abiose Akolade said future development would include enhanced detection of offshore operators, expanded fi nancial literacy resources and additional intervention and recovery tools.
Zitro’s King Fu Frog tops EKG ranking
Zitro Digital’s King Fu Frog – Animals has taken the number-one position in the New Top Game rankings in Eilers & Krejcik Gaming’s July Online Game Performance Report.
The online title follows the performance of its land-based counterpart, which recently received a Game of the Year award.
Michael Bauer, CEO of Zitro Digital, said the ranking supported the company’s strategy of bringing established land-based titles into its online portfolio.
“King Fu Frog – Animals reaching the top spot in EKG’s New Top Game ranks refl ects the strength of our content and the growing momentum of Zitro Digital’s online offering,” Bauer said.
The company said the result refl ects the title’s
performance with operators and players in regulated
online markets. Zitro Digital plans further
game releases and operator partnerships as it expands its online portfolio. The supplier will also showcase King Fu Frog – Animals alongside other titles at G2E Las Vegas.

The competition forms part of SBC Summit’s expanded Startup Hub.

fi nalists were addressing a diverse range of industry challenges, from retention and transaction monitoring to competitive intelligence. SBC Summit takes place in Lisbon from 29 September to 1 October.
Betable backs iGaming Club Lisbon
Betable has been confi rmed as Signature Sponsor of iGaming Club Lisbon 2026, which takes place on 28 September.
Organised by AffPapa, the networking event will bring together affi liates, operators and B2B suppliers at Ferroviário in Lisbon. Around 600 attendees are expected, comprising approximately 40 per cent affi liates, 40% per cent operators and 20 per cent B2B providers. Betable provides a cloud-based iGaming platform designed for new and established operators. Its casino-fi rst turnkey platform also supports sportsbook, bingo and other verticals, alongside a unifi ed player account management system and multi-jurisdiction compliance. Betable said its participation would provide an opportunity to meet partners and industry peers as the company expands into additional markets.
Yo Dragon takes SiGMA slot award
PopOK Gaming’s Yo Dragon has been named Best Slot Game 2026 at the SiGMA North America Awards. The developer said the title has recorded strong player engagement and market adoption since its release and is now available across a number of international markets.
Yo Dragon combines themed visuals with slot gameplay mechanics and has become one of PopOK Gaming’s more successful recent releases, according to the supplier.
The award provides further recognition for the company as it continues to expand its portfolio and distribution across the international iGaming market. PopOK Gaming thanked SiGMA, its partner network and players following the announcement. The supplier develops online casino content for operators across multiple markets, with its portfolio comprising slot and other casino titles.
