PREVIEW: SBC SUMMIT

Blokotech lands at SBC Summit Lisbon with LATAM– built platform philosophy

Blokotech arrives at SBC Summit Lisbon with a platform built around a core principle: the architecture should be global, but the operation has to be local, says Co-Founder & Exec Chairman, Alberto Alfieri.

I

t is an approach inspired by Latin America, where we learned early that localisation means more than translating a platform and connecting a few payment methods. Payments, KYC, regulation, taxation, bonuses, content and player behaviour can change from one market to the next. Operators also expect us to take a hands-on approach when something needs solving rather than asking them to work around the limitations of our platform.

This philosophy has influenced how we have built our technology. We have a single scalable core underneath the platform, while the layers above it can be configured around individual operators and jurisdictions. Our objective is not to build a different platform for every country. It is to build one platform capable of behaving differently in every country.

The complexity of the region forced us to build flexibility, modularity and operational proximity into the platform right from the start. What began as a necessity in LATAM is now becoming a competitive advantage as we look to expand internationally.

That will be one of the main conversations we bring to Lisbon, but AI will be another.

RECOMMENDATION TECHNOLOGY We have been developing our own recommendation technology, with a deliberate focus on applications that can demonstrate an impact on operator KPIs.

Casino recommendations are one example. With thousands of games available, we see little logic in presenting essentially the same lobby to every player. If we can use behavioural data to determine which content is most relevant to each player, there is a direct connection between the technology and engagement.

The same thinking extends into segmentation, CRM, churn prediction, player-value modelling, bonus optimisation, customer support, risk and responsible gaming.

For us, AI needs to solve an operational problem rather than simply provide another feature to market. The test is straightforward: show us the KPI. If you cannot identify what an AI application is intended to improve and how you are going to measure it, there is a good chance

GIO OCTOBER 2026 19

you have a demo rather than a product. Prediction markets will of course be a hot topic. We’ll be showcasing BlokoPredict, our recently launched white-label prediction markets engine, which allows operators, media brands and fintech platforms to add prediction markets without having to build the underlying pricing, trading, settlement and compliance infrastructure themselves.

LATAM MARKET

Latin America will naturally remain a major part of our conversations in Lisbon. The flexibility, modularity and speed demanded by operators across the region have shaped how we work, and we increasingly see those same requirements elsewhere.

Mexico is particularly interesting. While much of the international industry’s attention has understandably shifted towards Brazil, we see

Mexico’s combination of scale, established gaming culture and sophisticated digital and retail operators as an opportunity that remains underestimated.

And as we look beyond LATAM, we aren’t interested in putting dozens of countries on a slide and calling it global expansion. Our strategy is more selective: deepen our position in Latin America while taking what we have learned there into markets where we believe our approach can make a genuine difference.

Our ambition isn’t to become a Latin American platform that eventually went global. It’s to build a global technology company whose DNA was shaped by Latin America. I think this is stronger from Bloko’s perspective. In particular, “show us the KPI” brings back some of the personality from the original interview material and makes the AI section feel less like generic corporate AI messaging.
