Miele announced at IFA that it will enter a new product category with its Miele Aerium laundry cabinet – for freshening up garments and other accessories. Air


is distributed German TV brand Metz celebrated its


85th year in business at IFA 2023, giving a tantalising glimpse of the future directions of the brand. On the TV front, as well as the current Roku TV-based range of 4K and 2K DLED (Direct LED) TVs (available in the UK via Euronics dealers), the company also showed off entirely new ranges of Google TV-based QLED as well as OLED screens, initially only available in Germany. Also on show were a portable battery-


powered 24-inch TV (for the camping market), a transformable OLED TV with a screen that can physically ‘curve’ to better immerse gamers, as well as 27 and 31.5-inch HDR- compatible Metz gaming monitors. Showcasing its breadth of talents, Metz also launched a range of white goods, including washing machines, American fridge-freezers and dishwashers! “IFA 2023 was a truly eye-opening demonstration of the brand’s potential and capabilities,” said Rob Peacock, Metz’s UK Commercial Director. “While we’ve kicked off with two, really well-received DLED TV ranges in the UK, we will have access to a raft of other exciting technologies that we’ll potentially be able to bring to market in the future!”

Beko was big on sustainability at IFA this year. The SaveWater product line, which was on display, is said to help consumers save thousands of litres of water annually. The SaveWater tumble dryer is the brand’s patented technology that collects water during the drying cycle to be reused in the next cycle on the coupled washing machine, saving users up to 5.2 litres of water per cycle. Also on show was Beko’s PowerClean Vacuum Cleaner,


which autonomously


maintains itself so upon docking, the automated station activates and empties the contents. Other products on display included the AirFry Oven, ExpertFry airfryers and the SmellSense Cooker Hood. Over at Beko’s sister brand, Grundig, not only could we explore a plethora of MDA and SDA, but also brown goods! There was the Nano QLED TV – given an iF Design Award for its elegant design; it offers the convenience of Google TV’s intelligent features to provide the users favourite content and personalised recommendations. Grundig’s Atmos Soundbar Line was also being demoed alongside its new Outdoor BT speaker line, called Xplore, plus the Party Speaker line-up of powerful portable Bluetooth speakers.
