TAKE A TOWN Shopfloor Bristol 38

Sales skills: 5/5

Richer Sounds, Whiteladies Road For this issue, ERT’s team of mystery shoppers visited,

and assessed, eight stores across Bristol

This store is on Whiteladies Road, which runs north from the Victoria Rooms to Durdham Down, and separates Clifton on the west side from Redland and Cotham on the east. After moving to a new house, I was looking to buy a large TV. Inside the store, I was greeted by Liam, who asked if he could help me. I told him what I was after and he immediately

recommended OLED as a technology, explaining that OLED uses self-illuminating pixels for superb contrast and picture realism.

The TVs in the store were playing Rogue One and Liam encouraged me to look at the picture on a 55-inch LG OLED model (OLED55C44LA), which was priced at £1,169. Liam then took the remote control, and I was impressed with not just the Dolby Vision picture quality, but also the sound – courtesy of its a9 AI Processor 4K. Liam showed me the apps that are available on the TV. He offered to write me a quote for the TV, and in doing so mentioned that a six-year guarantee would be included.

WINNING INDEPENDENT

Store presentation: 5/5

Total score: 10/10

Liam’s name badge said that he’s a trainee, but he did a great job and the mention of the six-year guarantee was an attempt to close the sale. The store looked perfect, inside and out.
