On the soundbar front, UK audio outfit Mitchell & Brown hopes to woo buyers with its reasonably priced Symphony Bar400. Simplicity of installation and ease of use are the key attractions of this home grown soundbar. Bluetooth enabled, the 2.1 system boasts a healthy 400W output. Additional connectivity includes digital optical audio, USB, and analogue stereo. Samsung’s Frame lifestyle TV range has been a huge hit, and now the brand is looking to migrate the same formula to its audio portfolio, with Music Frame. This wireless smart speaker can be hung on the wall, amongst other artworks, but can be used as a standalone Bluetooth speaker, or paired with a compatible Samsung TV and Q-Symphony soundbar to create a full blown home theatre system. The Music Frame also integrates with SmartThings devices.
Samsung has a history of pushing the envelope when it comes to audio. One of its first lifestyle propositions was the wireless Radiant 360 R7, a futuristic multiroom speaker featuring a novel Ring Radiator that was able to deliver omnidirectional sound. The brand then extended the family to include R5, R3 and R1 models. I suspect we’ll see a lot more Music Frame models in the months to come, offering the prospect of repeat business as consumers build up the Frames on their walls.
