ANALYSIS: 2025 TRENDS Home Appliances

November 2024 ertonline.co.uk

Top kitchen trends for 2025

Planning the perfect kitchen takes time and consideration, so it’s essential to have the inside info on what’s set to be big news in the appliances market in the coming year. Miele GB’s Category Manager for Kitchens, Tom Hopper, shares his predictions for 2025...

34

1: Beige appliances Creating a warm and welcoming aesthetic is going to be a key kitchen trend in 2025, harnessing earthy and natural tones for both cabinetry and appliances. Miele is unveiling a new Pearl Beige colourway for its Artline range, which is perfect for this forthcoming trend. The Artline appliances will all feature a glossy surface with subtle glittering effect, designed to seamlessly integrate with both light and dark kitchens.

2: Automatic cleaning

Cooks who want and need to save time will be looking for appliances with automatic cleaning, as our lives become even busier. Oven cleaning is a dreaded household chore, so homeowners will rejoice at Miele’s HydroClean feature on its DGC 7000 HC Pro Steam Ovens. This self- cleaning function does all the hard work, taking care of burnt-on food residue to leave the oven cavity looking good as new.

3: Voice control Voice-activated appliances offer convenience and comfort as well as easy accessibility; they are also ideal for cooks who have their hands full. Miele has the perfect appliance for 2025 with its new voice controlled K7000 collection of refrigerators. ActiveDoor allows users to open and close the doors automatically via voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, enhancing a smart home.

4: Invisible kitchens One of the biggest trends for 2025 will be ‘invisible’ kitchens, where clutter, cookware and crockery can be hidden out of sight for a sleek and seamless space. Along with pocket doors, tambour shutters, home bars, coffee stations and walk-in pantries, multifunctional appliances are a great way to keep worksurfaces clutter-free. Miele’s built-in oven with AirFry function, combi microwave ovens and integrated coffee machines all remove the need for multiple countertop appliances.

6: Matt black appliances With over 191,000 #mattblack posts on Instagram, the trend for this sophisticated and elegant finish is set to be big news in 2025. As well as being ultra-practical, hiding grease and water spots, matt black finishes are sleek and luxurious, too. Miele’s collection of built-in handleless appliances in a sleek Obsidian Matt black finish includes an oven, compact microwave combination oven, combination steam ovens, warming drawer and sous-vide drawer, coffee machines and wine storage.

7 Wine storage

Homeowners who love to entertain will be designing their own home bars in 2025! Miele’s new Freestanding Wine Conditioning Units are the perfect complement or alternative, with contemporary styling and premium wine preservation perfect for any wine connoisseur or aspiring sommelier.

8 Energy efficient appliances 2025 will also see an increase in consumers choosing appliances that save both water and energy to help the planet and the pocket. Miele’s eco- friendly appliances help to achieve this while also delivering the highest possible level of performance. This includes washing machines that can automatically release the right amount of detergent for the load type, and heat pump tumble dryers that conserve energy and save money.

5: Island hobs

The perfect way to multitask and still be sociable in the kitchen is with an island hob. By prepping food and cooking at the island, the host can stand and chat with guests while they cook. 2025 will also see consumers continue to embrace smart technology with connected appliances that can be monitored and controlled remotely for ease of use, such as Miele@home that can be networked securely for simple operation, whether using the Miele app, voice control or integration into an existing Smart Home solution.
